Yes, of course. I will check on everyone's children because I know how it is to have something so precious to our hearts away for such a long time. Please send a private email and let me know his name, etc. Thanks for the info regarding Navy Lodge...

Hi everyone, I am going to Pensacola this coming weekend to see my son in A-School. Does anyone have suggestion on a nice, CHEAP motel (preferably on the beach)!! haha I know I'm asking for alot! Thanks, Karen

I would love to live near the ocean (in warm states!!). That has always been a dream of mine. I've lived in Knoxville Tn my entire life and YES, it's getting a little boring. But how do I move away from my precious grandchildren!!!!

Karen,
When you call to make reservations. Explain to them that you are coming to visit your son in a-school. The reservation will have to be in his name. The Lodge is on base, so you can either pick him up from his Barracks when you arrive, so he can be present when you check in, or they gave me the option of my son coming in and doing a pre-check in about 2 days before I arrived. The School is just down the road and around the corner from the Lodge. But the Military ID has to be shown. It is $72 a nite no tax and you have a completely equipped kitchenette. Pots & pans, bowls, fridge, 3 burner stove. And a beautiful private beach. They have a great BBQ area, hammocks. And Gazeebos on the beach. Maybe a place to cook down there, dont quote me...LOL But it is beautifully landscaped. And I dont think you will get better rates with beach access.

hey karen.
i know. it is better then bc. shawn is adjusting. it is better, I've been able
to talk to him twice a day. and the webcam is so awesome he loves that
thing , he said its like being home.. i feel the same way. its good to see him
every day. he went to the hosp last night. do to high fever 103.5. he has
a follow up appt. tomorrow at medical. so i am glad he is being taken care of. it worries me that hes not here when he is sick. i know they are adults
now. but shawn will not tell anyone he is sick unless he is just dying. lol
thats a man for you. i asked shawn about nick. he is on the other side of
the base from were he is, so they havent seen each other. shawn said
after 10 days they will be on phase 2 liberty. they can wear civilian clothes.
and can leave the base. but still have to report back at night. phase 3 is were they can actually spend a night outside the base. i guess. is nick in
the aviation side of the base?

Now I'm worried that flights will be canceled in Chicago!!! OH NO! I don't have a back up plan. It would kill me if I missed his graduation.

Graduation is not in the city, you will need a car! How exciting! I'm driving out that way on Friday to visit my sister, they have lots of snow on the ground, but they keep it pretty cleaned up. 8in of snow to them is nothing! Have a great week!
