Sparky has the "best" guilty look. He lowers his head and looks up at you with those brown eyes that totally say "I'm sorry" whenever he gets caught doing something wrong.

Irene, my thoughts and wishes are with you and your family at this rough time. I understand all too well about losing a "member of the family". It never gets any easier. Our Chow/Shep/Husky mix Gabrielle passed on 6/26/09 so I understand the hurt in…

The Marly and Me movie was good, I had read the book so I knew how it ended. My sailor son had gone to see it the day after it was released in the theaters. I brought a huge wad of tissues with me

chaela, that is a cute pic. Pretty brave pidgeons. We had one when I was a kid, he had gotten hurt and my mom nursed him back to health and he became a pet all on his own. He used to sit on my mom's shoulder when she was doing her home-typing job. W…

Karen~Sorry I have not been on. Thank you for sharing your "tidbit" about yourself :) I really appreciate it. Also wanted to thank you for your kind words. There are times that I think about the future and it does scares me a little, but I know I have a long time before he will be deployed since his schooling is so long. I have come to grips with this lifestyle and actually its a relief to put most of the worrying behind me and all the What ifs behind me. I wont ever be able to put the "miss hims" behind me though! For me right now that is the biggest thing is just plain old missing him. I know that will never go away. I do feel blessed though to have this opportunity and for him to have this opportunity as well. There is so much to learn from the Navy and there really is a lot offered from the Navy too. Just have to allow myself to see all the positive and not so much of the negative part of it. I think I have made this long enough for you to read lol sorry. Keep in touch. Ttyl

I think that our parents generation just never said I love you enough. My parents didn't say it either and theye all seemed to raise us the same way. Like you, we always taught our kids to be proud of themselves and love themselves. I always told them that you know you did the right thing if you could look in the mirror and see a good person. I tell them I love them all the time and they don't care who's around when they say it back. I say it to my husband all the time too. It's almost our 26th anniversary and we still feel like newlyweds......really old newlyweds.

I am trying to find a way of emailing you. I worked in two different doctors offices and both are closed now for doing things illegally. I was lucky I got out before they got caught. I love the animals they are so innocent and yet loving if we give them a chance. I found a 2 foot black racer snake laying on the bricks warming himself. He was so beautiful. We just looked at each other and it was nice.

Karen - they say the school is equivalent to a one year LPN program. They have a lot to absorb in such a small time. They are in school learning all day - not like college take a 50 min class and have a couple hr break. It is tough but they really want it. They will be rewarded in the end when they can feel competent they can take care of someone. And yes, fortunately, they do not know the real of it all. Especially - you as EMT must have seen a lot!

My son also likes aviation. No offense taken on the PA. I say go for it. I received my Masters in Nursing Admin only two years ago. My Bachelors about two years before that. The hospital paid for it all so I took advantage. I say do not think about it and just go for it.
