Oh, yea, I meant to tell you...about the Coast Guard thing, at least we get a call at 3 weeks. My friends (that had their son join the Coast Guard) said they had the first phone call at 5 weeks!

Yes I live in Oceanside! My husband to also in the Navy Reserves. He wanted our son to become a diver (which is what he is), but he had to do his own thing! The Navy divers are a good bunch of guys! But their training is in Panama City, FL.

Hopefully your son will come home for the wedding!!

I hope Greg can make it on time for the wedding. I will be visiting JC when Mac arrives and hopefully soon. I hope it's not so cold by that time.

Hi Karen,
Just drop in to check how you've been doing. You have a beautiful future daughter-in-law. I'm happy for you and Greg. Take care.

It is supposed to be nice all this weekend... no rain until Monday! Is Greg working this weekend??? If not don't hesitate! Once our winter rains begin there is no telling when you will get a sunny day!

Hi Karen,
I finally got settled in, with of course my son's dog. Thanks for asking. I was worried for my son in AFG and I could not post anything. His call today made me very happy today. He got the packages on his birthday yesterday and he sahred them with his buddies.
That's good that they're enjoying the TV. I'll email you their address after this. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Whidbey. I'm planning to visit there when my son will arrive from AFG. He can't tell me when so I don't know when. I'll let you know if I got the exact date. Take care.

Did you find anything out from USAA in regards to your sons insurance?

If possible he should be the one to contact them for insurance even if it is by email. If you have military power of attorney then go ahead. My son gave me the military power of attorney when I was fixing his then "new" car to get it road ready and title it and to talk to his credit card companies if there was a problem those that he had not put me on as authorized user for some reason he trusted me rather than his dad and his dad was a mechanic and doing some of the work on the car. Be sure however that they have a permanent home addy say for instance yours along with the current location of the car. My son used our home in FL. Now that he is married I think they have his current addy. I am trying to get him to register his car in TN were I am now but he does not want go give up his vanity tag and it has too many letters/numbers for a TN by one for a TN vanity tag.

Karen, USAA is a great insurace company, most car insurace dont like when you change your addy a lot. However USAA is just for miltary as it was started by someone from the military that understands about relocatan. All your sailor has to do is call them or email them with the new addy and it is done. My son know that they are best on rates. He researched very deeply and rate wise the came out on top.
