Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Your son or daughter will be away for long periods of time and you will miss them very much.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:

Dear Kathleen,
How have you been? Isn't the chimp cute! HAHA! I couldn't resist him! HAHA!
That's wonderful, your son coming home for Christmas. It's been 4 years since the last Christmas. That's one of the sad parts about being in the military. Kim hasn't been home for a holiday, this is our second missed.

She did plan to come home for this Christmas, but plans changed. After Christmas, I'm going to her for a few weeks. She's pregnant! HAHA! I am so excited. The baby is due Jan 2.

She was taken off the ship, and is in an office for now. The ship is out until the 24, I think she said. Sometime next year, the deployment over the the middle east.
All we can do is keep our Sailors in prayer.

I'll keep your son in prayer, when he deploys.
What real nasty weather we've having. It's how everyone gets sick. YUCK!

Let me get going. That is such wonderful news about your son being on for Christmas, thank you for sharing that with me.

Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Kathleen,
Hey stranger, how are you.? Periodically I'd check on you to see if you were writting.
WHat a cute idea, a birthday in a box!! HAHA!! Kim's bitrthday was last Tuesday. We sang Happy Birthday to her voice mail! HAHA! She called back a little while later. Her friends took her out to a bar. I didn't really need to know that! UGH! SHe turned 21.

I'm on my second missed birthdays and holidays with out her. We always call, but can't hug a phone! UGH!

Her ship is pulling out this week, for a two week cruise. SHe's stationed in Virginia.

God bless you, you have a two year old at home. I don't miss those early years at all. My baby boy just turned 19. I really enjoyed my children from maybe 8 and up. I love babies, but I don't have patience for them! HAHA! God bless you.

Where is your son stationed? I know you said he's out to sea now.
I dread when Kim deploys. Sometime next year to Afghanistan. Lovely thought.! UGH! I know it's all in God's hands.

Let me get going. Please stay in touch.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Hi Kathleen,
It was nice hearing from you.
It's kind of lonley around my house these days.
I do have my parents downstairs, but it is different. I miss the laughter of the children. I do have
my sister grandchildren, that I'm very close to. And that I see at least once a week
But I can't wait to have my own grandchildren. Oh course my kids would have to get married first. At least I would hope for that it would happen in that order.
Well Michael will be home Tueday for two week I can't wait. I started cooking last night.
I even painted his room last week. So I have been very busy for the last week.
I'm going to the movies tonight with a girlfriend. And out tomorrow dancing with another girlfriend for her Birthday.
So this is great weekend because I like to keep busy.
Well have a good week.
Talk to you soon
Your friend Sandra

Dear Kathleen,
Hey stranger, how you been? You went to North Carolina, how nice, what did you do?
My older daughter Darlene just came back from Virginia, and she spent some time with Kim there. Now She wants to return in October, but from the brochures, it looks like it's just for the beaches. It's not appealing to me.

The show "Ghost Hunters', I laugh when they hear something. The lead guys, Jay and Grant, they look like deer caught in the headlight! HAhA!!

Oh I do very well beleive in ghosts. The Bible even mentions them. Then the Bible talks of Heaven and Hell, why are there ghosts? Something none of us will know. I have been to Salem, Massachuttes a few times. It is very haunted. There are streets I can't walk down. I have seen them and have been touched. My older daughter with her digital camera, have caught a few ghosts in some of the pictures.

Don't worry, I babble all the time! HAHA! Kim is waiting to be approve to come home for a few days. If not, she said she'll dirve up for Labor Day weekend. I am such a nervous wreck when she does that 7 hour car ride.

I have an excitng day tomorrow, I get my first hearing aide. I am so excited, I can't wait.
How is Chris doing? That would be great if he comes home for Christmas. I know the house is so empty when a child is missing.

Let me get going. Take care and God bless,
Your friend,
Barbara

HI Kathleen,
Haven't heard from in awhile, how've you been?
Did you enjoy the time with your son while home on leave after they arrived back from deployment? I'm sure you and all the family did.

It was great to have KC home! We had taken a road trip with KC and rode as far as Oregon with him. He continued north since it was time to report back and we turned back around and headed back to So Cal. A couple of weeks later the ship as you know was down in SD so he was home during that weekend. Hope to hear back from you, take care.

God Bless you. My mom came from a family of 14. My Grandma had them around two year apart, so that mean she for 28 years she was pregnant ever other year, wow..... I give you alot of credit, it was hard for me to raise my two.
9 wow I would be in the crazy house. Well I don't give myself any credit I guess. When my kids were young, I did babysitting from my house because I did want to leave my kids and go to work after putting them through a divorce.
So I babysat for 5 kids and my 2. So I had 7 kids at once time. But not 9..
