When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To give my son all the support he needs. To put my faith in him and to trust that he will do what is best for him and his family.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

USS Tennessee

Hi, my son will be on the USS Tennessee and I was just wondering if there are any other mothers out there who have a son on the same sub? Would just like to talk with another mom.

HI! Oh my, one in the sky and one under the sea, wow. My son is going for SECF or ET. I have heard a lot of good feedback about sub school. I actually got a phone call tonight so I'm on cloud nine. You know how that is. He's really looking forward to moving on. I just hope he can handle being on a sub, I'm claustrophobic so just the thought of it makes me panic. LOL! Do you ever get to go see him when they are docked?

So nice to hear from you and sounds like all is well! Are you getting spring blossoms up there yet? Maine is soooo beautiful. I love New England and hope to be in RI someday. I like warm, but not that east coast southern, humid warm!!!
Sorry to hear about Josh's loss. You are right that things like that do happen for reasons. I am sure there will be another grandchild for you and Dana at another time!
So glad your job is working out too. I am in a dilemma about what to do. One office is slow the other jammed (as far as hygiene patients) and so of course the one I like working in better is the one that is slow right now. I have to make a decision as to whether I pick up another day in the office I don't like so much or pick up another office all together. I am sure it will work out as it did for you.
I try to get on here at least everyday for a few minutes so as to keep up with what's happening. Having 2 in at one time is a juggle act sometimes. My email is crowded with ombudsmen letters from 2 ships! These moms here keep posted too so I am not at a total loss!LOL
Keep in touch and I will talk to you real soon! Have a great weekend!

Hey Kathy! How in the world are you? Have not heard from you in such a long time and was getting worried! Looks like Josh is doing great and you got a new job! Good for you! I am still debating whether to just get out of dentistry and start a whole new career! Yeh....in my free time...NOT! How is Dana? Is Josh still in Va?

Good to hear all is well. We will start our hiking. (walking, lol) We are taking on less physical trails. Lol! I am glad for you that you have a new job. I know what it is like to work with a nasty person. It makes the days long and unpleasant. That happened to me a few years ago. She finally quit.
That is good news about Josh. I am glad things are working out for him. Alan just passed the test to become PO third class also. It is great to see them doing well.
I used to watch "House" until it went up against dancing with the stars. Now I need to catch the season finally of Greys Anatomy.
How does Josh like Virginia? Alan may go there. He is still up in Great Lakes. He finishes classes Friday.
I think of you often........just not on here much........Talk soon......Gail

Great to hear from you. Glad all is well. Contragulations to Josh on his promotion. We are actually going to down to MS to see CJ over Mother's Day since his ship will be there for a couple months before heading back to CA. I can't wait! Then we're planning our summer/fall vacation to go to CA when his ship is commissioned.

Hey Kathy, just wanted to say hello. CJ is officially on the Makin Island now. He seems really excited to be out of the classes and on the boat. Hope all is well with you and your family.

I can't imagine what the snow is like up there this winter. I am so glad to hear that Dana is still doing well! Is Josh living off base with his family now? I hope you did well with furniture shopping.
I am trying to get re-organized after the holidays. UGHH....it is a slow go. As I cross things off my list, ten more get added!
Have a great week.....Gail
