About me:
A NAVY MOM PRAYER

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray oh Lord our sailors you keep.
Hold them all safely in your arms
Ward off those whom would do them harm.
Remind them,Oh Lord that they are never alone
And bring them soon, safley back to their home.
Give them all strength and courage, Oh Lord
For the jobs they do are ever so hard.
Our precious children so strong and so brave
I pray, Oh Lord, their lives you will save.
Remember Oh Lord, they are all close to my heart
Shorten the time that we are apart!
Offer fair winds and following seas,
And angels to guide them while they keep us free.

Proud Navy Mom.
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Kathy,

Well Brian is finally done with ORT! OOH-RAH! He took his final Friday and although he hasn't gotten his score is sure he did well. How is Andrew doing? Brian is sooo happy that it is over, that was some tough training!

Hey, kathy, i must say it was just as good to meet you. i am watching your pics as i write. what a good looking family you have. I love the look on your face as you stand next to them. i know its the same one i have on mine. I also read lone survivor. but as my son requested i didnt read it until he left for boot camp. i think he knew i wouldnt be able to handle him leaving as it was lol God i miss him. he is my world! I am sure just like yours, he has been and absolute pleasure. As a small child he was petrified of the water. if you told me he would be a SEAL some day i would have laughed. well, i look forward to the next one...... hopefully we will have a little more time to sit and visit. ttyl becky

I am tired of RT 2 being closed all the time too. I have to take the backroads when I have to go to DeMotte. I don't know when they are going to be done but it can't be soon enough. Well enjoy your visit with your son. I know you will. Babysitting went fine but boy I am not as young as I used to be. Those toddlers wear you out quick. No wonder we have them when we are young. LOL Keep in touch

HI Kathy,
How was Indy? I was so sorry to miss out on the fun. I am looking forward to meeting in April. Where is your son stationed now? My MA son is in NV. My DH leaves in 2 weeks to go visit our other Navy son in Hawaii. I couldn't make this trip so it is a guys time. Any time you are up this way let me know and we can get together. I can see the power plant from my back deck. LOL So we are close.

Hey Kathy,

How are things? How is Andrew doing? Brian is doing good, finally over being sick and studying hard (I hope).

Kathy, Yes indeed! That is my absolute favorite rendition of "Georgia"! Ray Charles performed it in such away it sends chills up my spine.....Willie's rendition would be my 2nd! LOL Hope your sailor is enjoying some southern hospitality! Walter breezed in over the weekend with on of his buddies. A nice young man from the Chicago area. I only saw them about 4 hours all weekend. Seems I don't rate as high on the things to do list as his Dad and friends. Yep if ya can't tell I've been having my self a pity party..... Well maybe next time..... As you can tell by the time stamp on this I am awake way to early for normal people. Still having some back problems that are affecting how comfortably I rest at night...ugh...so tired of this mess I could scream. It has totally disrupted my life! Anyway, I'm glad Andrew is made is trip safely. Please tell hm if he needs to "escape" he can always come visit me...whether Walter is coming home or not. I'll be glad to have a sailor at the house and will cook up some southern grub for him! LOL Send him a hug for me! Take care and I'll talk to you later Denise

We got lucky. Colin missed his flight because the agent told him his flight was floating (have never heard that one before) and so he missed it and got put on a later flight. The weather was okay so we drove up to O'Hare and got to spend about 2 1/2 hours with him and one of his shipmates. It was so wonderful to give my son a hug.

That sounds great Kathy. I know what you mean about meeting. I would love to meet some of the moms from
all over the country that i have talked to on N4M's. There is just an instant connection there when you know your sons are going through a lot the same things :)
I don't get up to see my sister all that much. Usually when we get together, it's in Springfield, IL because my
other sister lives there and it's kind of halfway in between for me and my Indy sister. But, if i do, i will let you know. It'd be great to meet another Navy mom!!
I am so happy for you that your son gets to stay in this country for another 2 years. What a blessing. I have no
idea where mine might go after he gets done with classes, but for now and for the next few months at least, he is here also (relief). Hope your son likes his new base and job. Nice hearing from you again. Have fun at your lunch with ther other Navy Mom and tell her i say, "Hello". Take care. Sheree'
