My Sailor kids Sara Jane and Ty

Sara Jane left on July 1st and Ty followed her the next Friday, July 8th. What a time!! Their Grandfather was able to swear them in (Ret. Air Force Col.) and that was extremely special. We got the room to ourselves, with lots of family there, and were able to take pictures, video the whole swearing in for both of them and take our time with it. What a great staff at San Antonio, Ft. Sam Houston!
Finally got letters from both of them yesterday (7/23) and both are doing very well! Sara Jane is doi… Continue

Hi!

Which Gateway did you stay at?? I was just curious. My daughter is going to see my navy daughter in a few days, and she is staying at the Gateway inns and suites right on the point loma base, (that's where my sailor is stationed) i guess there are quite a few in california. I'd like to go visit her in the near future. Are we (as parents of Navy servicemen and women) only allowed to stay on the same base as them? Hopefully, it won't be all booked when I plan to go.
Thank you!
Carol

Everything is going great actually besides the fact that I spent all day in the ER. (I passed out for like 6 hours, they couldnt determine the cause) But I feel much better now. Still a little tired and sick though.

I have finally gotten myself back into a good routine. I work 40 hours a week usually, and I am taking 2 summer school classes. In January I will be going to Purdue University to study psychology. :) I have a beautiful girlfriend as well! :) Ill send my number to you.

I am sorry for the Huge delay in my postings, I am still alive and well, still recovering. I have been soooo busy between college and work that I havent had much time to myself. I still havent heard from Ty so any updates about him would be appreciated. Again I apologize for my absence.

Hi Kathy! Hope all is well with you and yours. Would you happen to know if sailors get to leave the US during their time off between A school and C school? I think right now they have to stay within a 300 mile radius or so. I'm really hoping Austin would be allowed to come to Romania for a few days this summer. If you don't know, do you know someone who might? Thanks!
