About me:
I'm not a mom, but my boyfriend is going to school to be an MM right now, he is in goose creek, sc, I hope that I can get some of my questions answered and maybe even answer a few people's questions myself.
I am here to support or represent my:
Spouse/Significant other
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
(girlfriend) Be supportive and let them know that you are there for them, no matter how you are feeling inside that day.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

omg, I saw your counter and I got excited for you! That's so awesome that you have a date to get down there!
I've been researching some apt complexes. I like Vista Sands, The Tradition, and Ingleside plantation. I think since ingleside is the closest to base that the boy is going to push me towards it, heh. What sold you on Vista Sands?

Katie, I agree with Shelli, go to the commisary. My son usually goes to Walmart. We got them a gift cert. from the commisary. He bought twice as much there than he gets from walmart.

I saw him at his A-school graduation, which happened to coincide with Valentine's day! So that was fun. Next time isn't gonna be for at least a month or so.

Hi
Are you flying or driving to Goose Creek? We spent a week at the villas at Thanksgiving. I was glad I took my own carving knife, and we had to buy a cheap frying pan for grilled cheese sandwiches, as there weren't quite enough pots and pans. (We cooked for 13)
Also, we got lots of sales at Walgreens on napkins, and there is a Walmart and Sam's club close by. Your sailor has to be with you to shop at the commissary, so we did a lot a checking around.
Funny thing about drinking glasses--thee were four of the most unusual sizes, and that was it. Silverware--tons of spoons, but only 2 forks. Guess stuff gets lost in the trash.
However, we could not have asked for better accomdations for the money--and it was close enough for our sailor to see us every day!
Enjoy your time there!

omg, have fun with your boyf! As to the villas, they have a microwave, a stove, an oven and a fridge, the kitchen is a full kitchen. However, they did not provide pots, pans, or cooking utensils. They do provide glasses, mugs, bowls, plates and flatware, though. So if you're set on cooking, I'd suggest you bring cookware stuff. :) Again, have fun!
