Son graduating November 25th
We are staying in Vernon Hills. I don't think it's too far from the base. Josh is supposed to leave for A school on December 2nd also but says there might be a delay. I wish he was going to San Anton…

My daughter Merissa will be graduating that day also.We booked our hotel off of priceline and we are 3 miles from the base. then she leaves for A school on December 2 she will be flying out to San Antonio, Texas

My son is ship 07 div 010. I am just now finding all of this info. I am coming to the PIR with my family and getting so excited. I talked to Josh yesterday and he sounds great, so grown up already.

That's great your son called today.
I'll let you know what to expect. For starters, your son is fine
Once the recruits get into the rountine of Boot Camp, and over being homesick, they like Boot Camp beleive it or not.
It's the moms having the nervous breakdowns! HAHA!
Boot Camp isn't as horrible as us moms picture it.
Next week, you'll receive the box of dirty clothes! HAHA! There's no letter in it. Warning, that box will leave an empty feeling. We all went through this.
The second week, is the Form letter. Don't misplace this. The Form letter is now combined with graduation information. It should also have the address with the Dicvision and Ship numbers, to write to. On the back there's a couple of sentences from you new recruit. That will give you some relief, seeing the handwritting.
Around the third week you'll recieve your first long letter. Another warning, sometimes that first letter is sad. If it is , don't panic. The letters do get more uplifting.
Please stay in touch with other Navy moms, I'm always around. Together, we'll help you through Boot Camp......we haven't lost a mom yet!! HAHA!
Please don't hesitatate to write.
