Hi Kelly,
Marke called to say that he saw Garrett the other day and gave him his cell phone number. Did you have a safe trip to see him graduate? Hope so. Weather is nasty up here right now and part of me would like to be in florida with the boys too.

Kelly,
I'm glad Garrett is doing well and that you will be able to visit with him at Christmas. Marke will be home hopefully in 24 hours and I can't wait to see him. It's been so long since he graduated in April. You will have a great time at Garrett's graduation. It's awesome. I've been hoping that things are getting easier for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kelly,
Hope you had a nice thanksgiving and are doing well. I've been hoping that it is getting easier for you. You are a strong woman and that will get you thru this. Keeping you in my prayers.

Kelly,
You are fine. You are allowed to miss him. I was just telling you that when the time comes for a graduation, how proud you will be. Remember, his clothes will be coming in a box from Fed Ex and don't be scared when you open it. I was shocked when I got Marke's five days after he left. I opened it to see not only pants and shirt, but underwear and sneakers. Don't right scared me. But after I thought about it, I realized they don't want any civilian thing on our boys. First step in military. I wish someone would have told me before I freaked out. Garrett will do great. You did well raising him Kelly and I'm here for you. Every day will get easier. Tell Garrett's girlfriend that once bootcamp is over he will be able to use a cell phone again. Tell her to take the sad times and write him letters. All the support from back home really helps the guys out while at bootcamp.

Hi Kelly, I recalled answering a post of yours last month in Boot Camp Moms Group here. You had a lot of misinformation then! =) I'm just checking back in with you to see how you're doing and if you have any new questions. Let the tears flow, that's ok and perfectly normal. be sure to post an update soon! ((HUGS)) to you! My best to Garrett as he starts his journey. :-)

Kelly,
How you holding up? I understand the tears, believe me. I wrote Marke daily and mailed them on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It took about four weeks before I got his first letter, but I also, did not want him feeling that he was alone. It's a big step and breaks a mothers heart not having contact. But wait till you see him graduate. IT's amazing. Words cannot explain the excitement I felt watching over 700 sailors stand at attention. It was awesome. and you will be proud. I drove to and from great lakes and it was worth every mile. I'm here for you and if you need anything, I'm here. Sending out lots of hugs and more hugs to help try and make you feel better. You are in my prayers.

Kelly,
You deserve to cry. But, I got a call from Marke today and he's a rescue swimmer! so look forward to Garritt calling you down the road sounding excited that he's accomplishing things and going in the right direction. It's not all scary at times and yes, I still cry when a song comes on or just thinking of him, but I am so proud of what marke's accomplished today! What a feeling that a little town boy could accomplish something so enduring and make it. You are in my prayers and I'm here for you. I know exactly what you are going thru and now that you don't have to do it alone. I'm sure Kevin understands.

Kelly,
You will get a lot of support on this website. Remember, if you are having any problems, just look me up. I'm here for you. Garrett will be fine. I heard Stephen Evans joined too! Our boys are going to make us proud from this little town. Marke donated a picture to the Jr. High of a sailor holding a flag with the rememberance date on it. This is to support our boys! We've taught them all we can, now they will be trained the rest of the way to protect our country. Remember, I miss Marke daily, but I'm so proud of what he has accomplished with his life and decisions. I still want to protect him, being the oldest, but I am learning that I've taught him right from wrong, so I hope he makes the right decisions. Take care.

About me:
Hi,

My name is Kelly Moody and my son Garrett left for Great Lakes on November 13th. I am married and have 2 other children besides Garrett - Janna who is 5 and Konner who will is 3. I am a Pateint Care Technician/Secretary at a hospital in Syracuse, NY and also an Independent Advisor for Lia Sophia jewelry. My husband is a truck driver with a local paving company. This is the hardest thing I have ever done - letting my son go. I heard about this web site from another Navy mom I ran into at a local grocery market. I, as all of you did, am going to need a lot of support to help me get through this time.

Thank you in advance for this support
I am here to support or represent my:
Garrett
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Said “No way!”
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I needed to let go - which is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I also learned Garrett is an adult and knows what he wants to do with his life and whether I like it or not I need to be supportive in whatever he chooses.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, The Navy has a lot to offer
