Welcome Laura.... I am from Irving, and my son is a Sonar Tech on the Roosevelt. Culinary Specialist sounds cool, something I would have done if I had joined. My grandfather was a cook in the Navy a long time ago. Kelly

Love your pictures Kelly. I grew up in Hurst and went to L D Bell! I saw in TX group where your grandfather was a cook in the Navy. If by chance you have any pictures, I would LOVE for you to post them on the "Navy History" group. If not, just stop by and visit. I love historical stuff! We have a lot of military history in our family, and I like to hear all the great stories. I looked up Sonar tech. There are so many different jobs, arn't there? My sailor is an FC-CIWS. Nice to meet you.

Michael is a BM. That's so great that Paul was able to be there for the birth of his son. Good luck to him in Afghanastan. I will be thinking of him and prayng for his safe return. I'm sure you are scared, I would be too, but I also understand the pride.

Hi Kelly, yes, my son is still on the Roosevelt. He actually surprised me and cam home last night for a 7 days leave! I just asked him if he knew a sonar tech named Paul and he said he doesn't know first names so I showed him the picture and he said "oh yeah, that's Andrews, I know him. I can't believe I've finally connected with someone else on the same ship! I was just looking at their cruise book from deployment. Have you seen it? Very cool!

Dear Kelly,
Wanted to invite you to come to downtown Fort Worth to the Parade of Lights and meet the other Navy moms. If we get enough people (moms, dads, ect.) we can actually march in the Parade. It will be the day after Thanksgiving. Hope you can join us. It would be great to meet you.
