Hugs at last!

Happy Holidays! It's been great, now that Jeremy has liberty he's home every other day. Until school starts again, then just weekends. We're enjoying it as much as we can, spending all the time together as a family as possible. He already knows he'll be gone for 2 years after Feb.

Away from home

Since our son left for boot camp, we spend alot of time talking about, and thinking of him. Our son Jeremy, youngest child, only son. One night during this contemplation we started discussing how long he was away from home. We realized this was it, the longest. If you add up all the time he has ever been away his whole life, sleepovers, summer camp, visiting grandprarents, anything. Put all of that together, it still isn't this long. It made things diffecult around the house, everyone seemed to… Continue

Hi Keoni, It has been forever since I have talked with you. How are you? How is Jeremy? Is he doing well in A school? Has he gotten his orders yet? We sent Michael back to the Middle East on Feb. 6. It was so hard to let him go again. You think it would be easy after all this time but it's not. I put up some new pictures of his visit home. We took him to Disneyland for a couple of days and had fun there. He bought a new car just a couple of days before he went back. Now he will have it for when he is stationed in San Diego starting in May. He told me that when he got back to Bahrain that he was going to volunteer for the land convoys between Kuwait and Iraq as security for the Army and Marines. That added a few more gray hairs to my head. But fortunately he went back out to sea. He is suppose to be out for 30 days but we will see. I hope all is well in San Antonio. If you get a chance, I would love to hear from you. Take care, Laura

Things are good. Colin just got to Phase II so he has some liberties and he's really happy about that. He really is enjoying his training down there. He doesn't graduate until 2/20/08. We don't know where he'll go, but I'm guessing he is hoping Japan.

Jeremy must know where he is going since he's graduating this Friday. Did he have any preferences? Good luck and congratulations! I think there is another group for MAs--after training. I think I'll join that soon. All of us MA moms got to stay in touch.

Colin did survive the OC but be did say it was extremely bad. I got to talk to him for a very short time. He did say he is studying a lot so I haven't heard much from him. I'm glad he is doing what he has to do but I haven't heard much from him. I'm hoping maybe he'll take a few minutes today to IM us. Colin told his father he graduates 2/20. When does Jeremy graduate? Probably a lot sooner than Colin since he arrived almost 2 weeks ahead. However, one of the guys who PIR'd the same day as Colin is graduating 2/5. That just seems so quick.

I am in Stone Oak Tuesday and Thursdays and sometimes fridays wednesdays Alamo Hghts and mondays in med center. I obviously prefer Stone Oak. Are you up in that area? here is my email it may work better for private conversations asq4more@satx.rr.com. Sounds like your visits are often now and great. I wish mine is back in school and snow. He had his car moved up there and I thought he was going to pick it up this weekend but he said mom I've never driven in snow I think I'm gonna wait to drive it home. I thought how responsible of you. I also got a pay raise he took over his phone and insurance so that last vestage of control is just about gone feels wierd. Well have a great weekend I dont get on here as much as I used to but I am really good at email.

Boot Camp was a horrible time, wasn't it!! The not knowing and waiting for our children to call us.! UGH!! It's so much nicer now, the communication.

That's what we do here too!!! The whole area just comes to a halt and then starts back up when it all melts too...which usually doesn't take too long either.

I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year!!!
