I got a good haircut before bootcamp, even though we could pin it up back then. Seemed like too much of a hassle. The male recruiters aren't always up on female regs, so may mistakenly tell girls they can keep their long hair. Cut it now, and cut...

Recruits are not allowed to put their hair up while in boot camp, it must be with in reg's without being put up. Once out of boot camp they will be allowed to grow their hair out.

If a female's hair touches the collar (or comes close enough that they think it might in a few weeks) they *will* cut her hair. However, they've never been known for "quality" haircuts. I would counsel any female heading for boot camp to get a nic...

Females hair is required to be above the lower collar while in bootcamp. They are not allowed to put up their hair while in bootcamp. FYI, if you are a recruiter you can call the PAO at GL any time to get information.

I can only speak about my daughter, she had her hair cut about 2 weeks before she left for BC, it was short, above the collar. When she got to boot camp they did not cut her hair, she did not have to have/need to get her hair cut actually until sh...

Do you know what an FMF does? If my son would go to Afganistain would he be on land or on ship? Do you have any Ideas? I'm sorry I just have no answers and don't know where to get them. You've been the most helpful so far and I thank you.

I was wondering though...Why is my son's Training camp Cheif saying that almost all of the Coremantaht are in training now will be sent over to Afganistan and trined by the Marine Core. We were told by my son's recruiter that this type of asssignment was voluntary. Is this what you are referring to FMF and actually I rememeber her saying you just needed to say you FMF OUT. Please tell me if this is true.
