Hi Bianca, Most A schools have regular start dates, if you miss one you'll be "on hold" til the next class starts. They find stuff for you to do if you are put on hold, but like others have already said make sure you're ready for PT and you'll do ...

Kim,

Sorry, I wasnt ignoring you I just noticed yo uleft the comment. Honestly, I think AECF is a better choice for Kevin. Nuke is very mentally challenging but it is rather boring. I think Kevin will do quite well in the AECF program. Thats my two cents worth. If you or he has any questions give me a call 970-631-2665. I will also be home from the 22nd of June to the 4th of July. Let me know if you still wanted to get together.

Hi Kim, thanks for the comment. Enjoy having your son home on leave. Lejeune in the summer is a HOT place to be, the humidity is the pits.
Being the resident MOM on the Corpsman.com website I have LOTS of sailors that I keep track of because I have known a lot of them since they were DEPers and joined our site looking for information. I expect keeping track of John when he leaves will be a little harder than keeping track of Dan (I have lots of contacts in the corpsman area but none in the nuke field).

I am so proud that both of my boys have chosen to serve, but not looking forward to the empty nest come September. I already have my girlfriends on alert for support that I know I am going to need when he leaves.

Keep in touch and good luck to your son at FMTB - when he gets his unit assignment after let me know, my son is stationed at Lejeune.
Many Hugs
DeeDee

Kim, I think our ETs and FC sailors can be frusterated at this early stage especially if he is sitting on hold. He may not know alot about his job yet himself. Once he starts school and learning more about it - he will probably be able to share more. They typically have four roommates in this program and none of them maybe ETs. He could be rooming with FCs, GMs or ICs. They also could be on different schedules so he may not be getting any info from them at this point either. Typically they are in GL for 5 - 8 months, much of the program is self paced so it can vary from sailor to sailor.

I have looked at expedia and priceline, etc. going 6-30 through July 6 and Navy Lodge has 30 through 3 only, but the package deals at Sofia are pretty good but I think I have to have a hotel that does shuttle and has breakfast. Don't care about pool, bar, etc. Terribly gracious of you to reach out to me.

Hi Kim, wanted to stop by and welcome you to AEXF group. Got a few sailors in your family Huh?! Wonderful! Our son is an FC, he graduated from A school in January and is deep into C school now. Hubby was also an FC for 10 years. You will find a lot of great support in the group so don't hesitate to ask questions.
