phone call

Matt just made his first phone call. We got to talk for 30 min. It was so good to hear his voice. He sounds so grown up. He is doing well. Just took his first test and scored high. The division got a flag for doing well over all.He is going to be second stick but I don't know what flag he is carrying yet. I'm so proud of him. He is still homesick but adjusting and making friends. I can't wait til graduation to see him.

Letter from Matt

I just got the second letter today. This one sounds more upbeat than the first one which makes me happy. Matt is starting to make some friends and says the division is coming together . He is also colorblind, who knew? It doesn't affect his job so thats good. He wants me to send him all the football scores. lol If you knew him this is so typical. Can't wait for graduation. I am so proud of him.

Hey Kim,
I wanted to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. Will Matt be able to come home?

Hi Kim,
Saw on the CT site that you have been sick. Just wanted to stop in and say I hope you are feeling better. My daughter has been sick all week as well. Take care and talk to you soon.

Yes, staying in SC. Looking for an apartment now - I guess we will move him when we are there for graduation. He will be on hold and then have Prototype there in SC. Then - well, who knows! He seems happy to be staying in SC - didn't mind NY, just not use to that type of cold for long periods of time, so glad for a warmer winter! He is a shorts and t-shirt kind of guy! :)
Please pray for him as he finishes these last two weeks of class and then has comps on the 17th. Wow - in less than 3 weeks we will be there! Can't wait!

Doesn't look like Garry is moving to NY after all.

Oh, Kim I am so sorry! No wonder you have been on my heart so much recently! God put you there! I am sorry you lost your mom - I know that feling: You hate giving them up, but are glad they aren't suffering anymore. I lost my mom in 1993 - I still miss her but know that she is so much better off. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Glad Matt got to be with you!

Glad he is enjoying his job - that helps. Garry is just stressed now with tests, then comps and now not sure what his orders will be. He thought he was staying in S.C. for Prototype, but it changed but he doesn't know when he will leave. Oh, well - welcome to the Navy, huh? I am very flexible - but being a teacher I am used to planning and then "being flexible" within that plan! ha ha Oh, well. My girls are good. Stefie got her first pap since her surgery and we are waiting on the results. Praying for clear results. They both are getting to go to graduation as well as our son-in-law and my sister. So it will be a great trip and visit! Can't wait!

I hope we can meet up sometime soon - I will let you know our plans!

I will keep you in my prayers in the days that follow and you get on with your life.
God Bless
Lea

Hey girl! How have things been? How is your mom? Matt? Haven't talked in forever. Don't have lots of time to get on - didn't at all for several weeks, but now that Power School grad is close (Nov. 20th) been connecting with other moms making plans. Think of you often - fill me in on what's happening!

How far are you from Ballston Spa, NY? Looks like Garry is probably moving there. Maybe we can meet when we come up if it isn't too far to meet half-way or something.
God Bless!

Kim- It was the 14 x 18 Sailor's Creed - $37.00 plus $9 for shipping. Bummer is they only take money order - I hate waiting. They supply the Creed and I guess the group picture. I have one but I think it is too big - maybe not. Anyway, thank you again.

Kim - Update: Went through the giant cardboard and lo and behold their is a frame. It is not the matt that you have - it states for the TEAM. I went online to the site and they do not have it with your matt. Tomorrow I will give a call and see what they have to say. Thanks again.

Thanks Kim - I know Karl had a frame in his pkg but I did not pay attention to it. I am going to have to go up to his room and check it out. Yours looked nicer - would be funny if we have it. I framed his pictures for his grandmother and family in beautiful frames from Pottery Barn. They are Navy wood with off white linen matting. I did get them on sale for less then 1/2 price. I thought though your frame would be nice to have it all together. Thanks again for the quick response. I need to update my sight with newer pictures but have to wait for daughter or husband - hence - PIR pictures. lol
