Jeffrey is in Florida right now for A school. We got one phone call to say that he made it. I hope that we can stay in touch also. I am so proud of him. I just can't wait to see what comes next.

Hey Kimberly,
Just wanted to say congratulations to Jeffrey for winning the honor recruit. I know you have got to be so proud! I wish we had had more time to of spend with you.
Wes (Daniel) said he was a great guy and was really happy he was in his division. Did you pick up the Navy Newspaper? His name is listed, also on the Naval station Great Lakes website.
Where is Jeffrey off to now? Hope we can all stay in touch...

I just got a letter from Jake and he said that he and Jeffrey were both recommended for the recruit award boards!!! Jake wrote that there are four recruits in all who were chosen to go before the board. It's to determine the honor recruit for their division. Since their division is the honor division, I would say that its a huge deal for our boys!
So, congratulations. I guess Jeffrey's CO was right!

Sorry you can't make it to the Pizza gathering. I hope we meet at the PIR. When I wrote to Jake yesterday, I told him I had "met" you online and asked him if he knows your son. I will ask him to check in with Jeffrey. Jake seems to be having a pretty good time. It's hard not being able to speak with our boys, isn't it? I cannot wait until 08-08-08!

Hi, Kimberly!
Welcome. My son James Jacobs-Smith (Jake) is in your son's division, too. I just got another letter from him today. Wednesdays are officially my favorite day of the week because that's the day we hear from Jake.
He says things are going well. Only 23 more days. You are invted to a DIV 938 SHIP 06 Pre-Graduation Pizza Dinner on Thursday, August 7, at 8pm. It's going to be at a nearby restaurant called The Silo. See the full invitation under "Events" on the right side of the page.

HI Kim, glad you joined div 938. welcome. After we got home last night, I checked the mail and the information about pir was here. We have looked into a few options. Planes, driving, possibly staying in our camper. we are going to weigh our options at this point. I am waiting for my mother in law to decide what she is going to do. I know Bill and I will be there. Our daughter Amber will probably be there too. Can't wait to see our sailor.. I hope to get a letter in the next day or two. chat with you soon. Trica
