OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Since you have a recruit at the RTC, you can change "Thinking about joining" above to Enlisted or “At Boot Camp now.” Either is appropriate, but if you make the change to “Enlisted” now, then you will not have to change it again.

KimberlyT....s, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your full name. You also need to change the URL (address) to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.

If you would like information on your recruit’s rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Kimberly,  On your My Page to the left under your name it should say Settings. If you click on that it should take you to where your User Name is showing. That is where you should take out your last name.

Hi Kimberly -  go to your "My page" and then click on settings.  You'll see a place there where you can change your user name.  After you change you name be sure to hit "save" at the bottom of the page.  After you do that then continue in "my page", "settings" then "my page" again.  The 3rd option down you will see the address.  Change the end of that to your user name.  Again, hit "save" when you are done!
