i hope everyone has fun with their sailors who made it home for the holdays!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy for all of you spending time with your sailors. Our sailor stayed behind to study some extra for comps next month. He says he is on a watch shift 12 on 48 off. Enjoy and Happy Holidays. We will miss our sailor but we will head to South…

So much to do before Christmas!!!!!! My sailor is staying behind to study for next months comp in Power School!!!!!!!! We are so proud of him!!!
My son is an Em too 906 section 2. He is not coming home for the holidays he is going to stay behind and study for comps.

Jeanne said… - Hi Krista, I got my invitation in the mail yesterday. You should be getting yours soon. I think this is even more exciting than bootcamp!! Getting ready for Christmas, hopefully will get the tree up this week and put the lights on it. We're waiting for Zach to get home to put the ornaments on. I'm so sorry Rob won't be home with you guys for Christmas, but just think, it's just a few more weeks until graduation! Wow the timie has flown!! Have you gotten your reservations yet? Merry Christmas!

- Have you made reservations yet for the Villas for graduation? We made them when we were there last week. They told me they usually fill up for Power School grad. My daughter and her boyfriend said they would like to come as well, and I think we may need to get another unit. I told them to hurry up and make up their mind so we can get another one. They really are convenient, and very reasonable.

- Zach told me that he, Rob and Hunter basically hang out together all the time. The 3 muskateers! : ) They are SUCH nice kids, I am so glad that Zach has such good friends. You should ask Rob sometime about the pranks they pull on one another! They really had us laughing!! I still haven't heard how Zach did on that test last week. They hadn't posted grades for the EM's and ET's yet when we had to leave. Zach said it was harder than he had expected, but at least it gives him a "heads-up" as to what to expect for comps. I am VERY nervous about him being away from base for so long at Christmas. He assures me he'll be fine tho'.

- Hi Krista, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I've been so busy making sure all the last minute stuff is done! I've got a list a mile long of things I don't want to forget to bring. We're just getting ready to get the car all packed. We're planning on leaving around 4 am Tuesday. We'll drive down to NC from here, then on Wed. we'll only have about a 3 hour drive left, so we can get there and do any last minute shopping I might need to do, to take care of things that I've forgotten about. I am SO excited. Zach said it'll be him, Rob, and 2 to 4 other friends. I think we could be having mcdonald's for dinner and I wouldn't care...just really looking forward to seeing them. HAPPY THANKSGIVING, I'll give Rob a hug for you, and I'll be sure to send pictures when I get back!

- Believe me, I know how much you'll miss him, and he you guys. It was awful last year, wasn't it? My girls don't mind that we're "abandoning" them to their dad's family, since they remember that Zach was in bootcamp last year. I know we are not a great substitute for his own family, but I sure hope he knows we welcome him as one of our own kids! Let me know if there's anything other than cheesecake that he would love to have. We're going to do a pretty basic turkey/stuffing/potatoes kind of dinner, and lots of different desserts. Don't worry, I'll get pictures too!

- Is there anything special I can make for Rob for Thanksgiving that he really likes? I asked Zach about a menu, and he said "anything goes!" I will probably have a cheesecake for Zach's special treat. I'd love to have something that Rob will love.

- Hi Krista,
We're getting ready to go to GC next week. I can't wait! I have to sit down and figure out what I'm making for dinner so that I can make a checklist so that I don't forget to bring anything that I will need. At first Zach thought Rob might be going to visit a friend at Camp Lejune, but now he says he's pretty sure Rob will be joining us for diinner. I'm looking forward to having a lot of their friends over. We haven't made reservations yet for graduation, but I will do that when I'm there next week. I just bought Zach a plane ticket home for Christmas, and am looking forward to that. I don't think he will be taking any leave time after graduation, since he's hoping to go to NY and will have to get up there and find a place live. I'm nervous about Zach taking 10 days off at Christmas, but he assures me he will be fine, and won't forget too much. Comps make me SO nervous! I'm sure I'm just being "a mom", and I'll have to trust his judgement. It will be nice having him home tho'. I hope he calls me tonight after the test. I'm sure they'll both be fine!

- We would've loved having Rob for the holidays, I'm sure you would do the same for Zach. but you must be very proud of him that he's chosen to stay and study for comps. Zach says that Rob is doing fine, and really holding his own. I think that school is just moving at such a quick pace, there's no time for these guys to breathe! I haven't spoken with Zach in about a week, but he sent me a picture of himself on Halloween. Looked like they had a good time! Hope all is well with your family, and talk to you soon.
