you know, i probably checked him onboard but the light bulb hasn't gone off yet...lol. oh he's not the only one. i was in San Diego for about 4 years with no car. Yay trolley and public transportation! But since I'm E5, I did live off the ship. In a few weeks though, everyone will be living onboard! By the way, if you're still looking for a place let me know. I know the area pretty well...and do not look at anything around the base. BAD area! Like I carried OC in my backpack when I walked to the trolley stop outside of base at night.

Hi Krista, well I am still looking for a place to live off base for just 5 months. The military allows us to live on base only if we stay in the area for more than 6 months, so since Shawn's training is supposed to last less than 6 months. I need to live off base for now. It will be probably until January 2009. My husband is still @ Great Lakes. Hopelly he will be home by the second week of december.I am counting about 45 days from today. so I guess you sailor got his orders to his permanent duty station already right? Are you going to drive to California?

I don't know if I will be able to go to Guam or not...looks like the plane tickets will be around 1800$ round trip....so I guess I will start saving up....I don't know how long he will be there so....who knows....At least Michael will not be too far away from you....it will be a nice drive down the coast!
