OOO, ok, I see. I didn't know your husband was already in. I thought he was just enlising ... I get it now. That's cool.
Yeah, she already has a great doctor, but once Patrick gets back in we will more than likely not be anywhere near her current doctor, so we have been researching good hospitals and getting recommendations from her current doctor. Worst case, her and I will fly home each time for her monthly exams. She doesn't have to undergo any treatment or anything, not right now anyway, just monthly exams and a quick cryo-therapy treatment if she has any new tumors. So, basically, if we got stationed somewhere near a hospital, but I didn't feel comfortable with it, then we'll just fly home for each exam.

So you guys currently live in Hawaii? I'm a little jealous!
Are you originally from there or what?

Hey Kyley, thanks for writting back.
In answer to the first question, no, we have no clue how much longer it will take. It's cheaper for the military to send new recruites to bootcamp than to reenlist prior service members, simply because of pay. If your husband is just getting out of boot, or heading to boot then then he's going to be at the bottom of the list basically, an E-1 and be making only about $1300 or so a month, whereas since my husband is prior service then he'll bring his rank with him and still be an E-5 and be making about $2400 a month ... so for the price it cost for him they could recruit two new guys.
So, basically they aren't rushing. He's already started all the paperwork and is pretty much in, but we have no clue when we'll move yet or anything.
As for stationing, no clue either. We've requested SoCal. We lived at Camp Pendleton before and loved it.
Now we have a daughter, 16 months, who was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at 10 months, so we've been doing research on bases close to good hospitals for her. Luckily, LAs Children's Hospital offers a Retinoblastoma Center so we're hoping to be near there.

Hi, my name is Courtney. I came across your page while looking for other younger ladies on this site.
My husband is currently in the paper work process of reenlisting into the Navy, from the Marine Corps.
Maybe we can be friends, seeing as we are both a few of the younger women on this site, lol.
