How close I came to being laid off

On January 22 the Macy's lay offs began. I had been holding my breath hoping I wouldn't get called to HR. Then it came "Please come to the office". I went to the office got the we're sorry speech and tried not to cry. When the poor guy asked me if I was OK I replied "Sure I am. But are you OK? This has got to be hard on you?" I kept telling myself the silver lining is the store closing then everyone would be out of a job. That night as I drowned my sorrows in chocolate my husband teased me abContinue

The holidays are over

The holidays are over and Daniel is back at A school. I've tried to stay busy with work so I won't think about how much I miss him or how worried I am he'll be sent to Afghanistan after A school. We were all so happy to have him home for Christmas (especially Fat Lu). Now that he's gone again. I don't know who's more depressed me or Fat Lu. I'm going to try to keep my mind off my worries with our up coming spa. I guess I relax more when I help others relax, weird huh. It's just that when Daniel… Continue

Hi!! Adam got back to GL a lot easier than he got home. That 2 weeks sure went by fast didn't it? It's still hard to say goodbye. I was doing pretty good when he was leaving. I took him to the bus, he got on and before I was out of the parking lot he sent me a text that said he didn't want to go...I cried all the way to work. The good news is... he's done with A school as of yesterday. He's on hold right now, but will be going to San Diego soon. He can't wait for that, he's never been crazy about the snow and cold. LOL

Thanks! Hope your new year is starting out great! We enjoyed our time with him (what little bit that was ..... LOL). He made happy (extremely loud) music while he was home with a bunch of his friends!!! It was really hard to see him go, the good-byes definitely don't get any easier. Things are way to quiet around here without him :( Best wishes to you, your sailor and your family. Stay in touch! (I definitely am trying to stay busy....try to keep my mind on positive things :) Re
