From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
When you are in the Navy things are never as timely as stated. So we must be patient and only get ready for the next step after orders are in your hand.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Lea: CONGRATULATIONS!!! Having a new grandbaby is really exciting. Glad Nick is loving the Navy. Cory seems pretty settled, too. He does like Virginia Beach. I'll be heading there on the 23rd for a short visit. Check the "Events" page when you get back into town. Paige has scheduled a get together in Prescott for August 22nd.

Lea: Several N4ms are getting together this Saturday (July 18th) at the Corner Bakery on 83rd Ave just south of Bell. It's listed on the "Events" page with website/directions. If you can make it please RSVP on "Events" so I know how many people to expect. It would be nice to finally meet you!

Yes, A school lasts a good long while and he won't know what C school until two weeks before he graduates. So at a minimum Five months away and it could be more like eight months! Just tell him to do a super job on his schools and inspections cause all of that counts for picking orders!

Good looking Sailor you have Lea!!! Our son is at Dahlgren for the Aegis system. He has been there since January. All Aegis orders are to Dalgren, which is 60 miles out of DC. Or they go to DamnNeck, VA - down by Virginia Beach or they go to SanDiego. It really is driven by what system they will be working on. Most of the C schools are fairly long, our son's will last about seven months. Please keep us posted on his orders and let me know if you have any questions, my hubby was an FC for 10 years as well.

Lea: I got the April 4th potluck / picnic posted on the "Event" site, check it out. If you can come, please RSVP as "attending", it helps me stay SOMEWHAT organized!! This is a family event, so bring the kids. If you need more information, let me know. Hope you can come.

Lea: Just wanted to let you know that there is a potluck / picnic in Phoenix on April 4th. It's at Cortez Park, 35th Ave and Dunlap, with a lagoon and playground. It's a family event, so if you can make it, bring the kids!
