I too wish everyone a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving! My sailor arrived home just about an hour ago! It's great to have him here. Last year he wasn't here and probably won't be again after this year for a while so I plan to enjoy it to the fullest!…

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Be patient! He is happy and my job is to support him. Remember he is God's child - he is only on loan to me!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
Garry graduated Nuclear Power School on November 20th in a very impressive ceremony! He is living off base in Charleston and taking college classes while on hold waiting on Prototype.

Hi Lea, So glad Garry sounded better when you talked to him. Jeff is signed up for classes while he is on hold too. He is moving off base on Weds., I think. We will get to see his apartment while we are there. I'm getting really anxious to see him. He was home for about 36 hrs. in June for his brothers wedding so didn't get to spend much time with him. Well, I will be praying for all of our Nukes. See you soon!!!! Pat

Lea, still praying for our Nukes and specifically for Garry. Have added you to my prayer list. Have a safe trip when you go to Garry's graduation.

My son just started Prototype in September. So he still has a long way to go yet. They just started on the 35 day schedule where they change shifts. They work 12 hours a day,7 days on days - 2 days off, 7 days on swings - 3 days off and 7 days on mids - 4 days off, then start all over again. (I think that is how he said it goes.) So far he is doing well but has concerns about how things are progressing. Doesn't say anything specific and I don't ask. I just encourage him to continue to do his best and then I pray. It will all work out. He is getting his vehicle "winterized" this week.

Hey Lea,
Looks like after a year of are sailors being in the same places their next 6 months will be in different places. Chris in NY and Garry in SC. We are all excited about graduation and Chris's sister will also be making the trip this time. Hope all is well with you and your family and we will be seeing you next friday (can't believe its here so fast).

Lea, not only do I do the name thing, I responded to you on the 3rd - on my page! I don't suppose you saw it so here it is before I delete it from my page. lol

I'm glad I am not the only one that does that with names! My son wanted to see more of the country than just the south (we're from Lawrenceburg, south of Nashville) so he knows our winters are nothing like what he will experience in NY. I don't remember what he got on his comps for Power School - that was back in July. All I know is it was 3.something. Maybe 3.39. Just not sure about that. Now I pray he and his shipmates are all able to pass Prototype. After reading Chris' version of Prototype, I pray more often! He seems to be doing well so far. Knowing what my son went through up to this pointgives me reason to still pray for all the nuke students. They need all the help they can get in using the intellect the Lord has given them! I will specifically call out Garry's name in future prayers.

Is he happy about that? I am sure you are - it is much closer to go visit! Will you stay after graduation to help him move off campus? You will probably still do the mom thing and suggest purchases Garry could make for his apartment or house???

Lea, Yes, Jeff is an EM, too. Unless I misunderstood, Jeff said during hold they stay on base. They get "permission" to move off base when prototype begins. While on hold he and several other sailors will be taking college classes. I am just hoping that his hold doesn't stretch out like it did between "A" school and Power School (7 months). Pat

Hi Lea, That's great that Garry will be staying at GC for Prototype for 2 reasons. #1 Jeff and Garry can remain friends #2 He doesn't have to do the moving headache!! Lea, we'll be in GC SOON!!! Happy Halloween too! Pat
