- I am the mother of Kait 23, Drew 20 and Erica 15.My husband and I recently celebrated our 25!! Being new to the military I am trying to learn all I can! I am so thankful for this site and the wonderful people I've met! Drew is an ABH on the Mighty IKE! We are really proud of Drew!! God Bless America and All our Troops!

- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- Accepting this decision and exploring all I can about what his life in the Navy will involve. This has been quite a learning experience! Information is not easily obtained! Thank goodness for this site! Drew has changed so much in these few short months! He loves the Navy and is so happy with his decision to enlist!
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

- Hi Libby, sorry it took me so long to get to your page and tell you how much I enjoyed meeting you. Hope you had as much fun at homecoming as I did. Wish we could have gotten our sailors together, but I know that would really have been a mission impossible. Maybe some other time.
Did you ever get an answer to your question about mailing addresses? I just now saw it above in your activity section. Rob told me that whether they are in port or out their mailing address remains the same. So it would be his name, dept and division, USS Eisenhower and the FPO #s.

- Hi Libby, haven't seen you on the Ike pages lately. Hope all is well and I know you can't wait for homecoming. I just posted info about a get together after the FRG night before party in the discussion section on the Ike pages. Check it out and I hope you can join us. Debra - Jason's mom!!! said… - Wow Libby!! That sounds great!! I am so happy for Drew!! Sounds like he is doing so well. I know you are proud!! Jason just graduated A school last Thursday & has been home. It's great to see him!! He also got stationed in Norfolk!!! He is excited about that, he was born in VA & I spent 22 years there!! We moved from VA to Florida when Jason was in 6th grade! He has to report there by the 19ths. He is then going to Nevada for a few weeks with his squad & then back to Norfolk. He is assigned to the USS Truman. He also got married over Memorial Day week-end!! So his wife will join him in Norfolk, probably in Sept (after he is back from Nevada & finds a place for them!). So he is happy & doing well. I'm not sure when we will go up to visit, maybe Thanksgiving or Christmas. We'll see. It's about a 10-11 hour drive!
I'm so happy you gave me the update!! Please keep in touch!!

My younger son and his uncle are going on the TC, just emailed there forms out 2 days ago. He called me this morning to let me know that he got them, but he still never received his package I mailed over a week ago.

and is also an ABH on IKE. I wonder if our sons know each other? That would be nice if they did. My son boarded the first week of May, and yours? You and me both trying to figure out all this new stuff we have to learn. It sure is interesting!

Was checking out Dianna's pictures on her page and saw your post. Sorry don't mean to be nosy! It can be overwhelming and scary sometimes with a new sailor. My son, Rob, has been in the Navy almost 3 years now. The Ike is his first assignment and he joined them mid deployment in March of '07, so I know what you mean about all the questions. Let me know if I can help you in any way. This site is great for info, but sometimes we assume that people know things when they don't - so don't be afraid to ask. Hang in there - we're here for you.
