Hey! Just wanted to stop in and say hello! All is well here and I pray that all is well with you. I changed my profile pic hoping that someday I would be able to thank the mothers of the sons in the picture. We went to a Chicago White Sox game over the July 4th holiday and Miranda ran into these three sailors fresh out of basic. She fell in love with the Navy, joined and was in basic 2 weeks later. Crazy girl I have and she loves it with all of her heart!
Have a great day and tell that son of yours to keep on, keeping on!

HI, we are all busy or something out of the ordinary comes up. There is no problem in replying back to me right away, I understand. I finally caught up on all my messages recently and I may have to quit adding new friends since I can't keep up with the replies...LOL! Hoping everything is okay with the sinuses and your feeling better soon. We certainly need the rain here and I only needed to go out yesterday morning in this weather to run errands. Have a great Sunday afternoon! Take care.

hey, yea its hard right now because we are faced with the fact that we might not get to live with each other for another two years just because of the timing with him to grdaduate and he dealines to apply for the health program and such, so that part is really depressing but we are praying for the best.

so about how many C schools has your son been through? mickey wants to make the navy a career and go for 20 years. the not knowing part right now is killing me though, lol he will be starting A school on monday then hopefully he cn get through that before the summer, hes going to have to really crack down! lol.

florida is nothing but humidity!!! lol i hate that part about it, and yes it has been extremely cold here the past couple of days!! some mornings its colder here than chicago!! which just blows my mind, lol.

im so excited to see mickey next weekend, its been over a month now since he left to go back up there, and its killing us both!! lol but im pretty prepared with all my warm clothing i bought and everything.

so about how often does your son get deployed? i know the rate is 60% sea duty an 40% shore duty, just curiuos to see if its true to that, lol.

Thank you, The pics all represent my family. Except the hubby & daughter in-law, haven't added anything for them yet. I love lady bugs, my grand daughter's middle name is Lily, my oldest daughter loves Fairies, my youngest daughter loves Marilyn Monroe. I'll need to add something for my soon to be son in law too.

We would love to go to her graduation. We think it is in June, not sure. We get to talk to her all the time so I am sure she will let us know. Did you go? was it fun?

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That not hearing from him regularly is par for the course. With all of the training demands, shipboard ops and deployments, it is difficult for a sailor to keep in touch as regularly as he/she would like. Sometimes, they just can't tell you things, because it's classified, and you worry.

You would think I would have known all this being married to a sailor, but it is different when it is your child.

However, the best thing about not hearing from your child is that you know he/she is safe. Then, those calls, emails, or letters that do come become extremely precious, and remain in your heart and memories to tide you over to the next call or perhaps a visit home.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

Happy 30th Birthday William!

My son, William, will be celebrating his 30th birthday on January 18th. LOL, now he knows how it feels to hit the big 3-0! All that trash talk that he gave me when he was younger about being as old as a dinosaur....well, now he will hit a major milestone, and maybe he will have some dinosaur feelings too :-P Bah, he was never rude and disrespectful about it; it was a running joke between the two of us since we were so close (he's my only child).

Seriously though, it is a special moment in my

Family Cam

We spent last night on the computer with my son William, his wife, and our grandchildren. It was so great seeing them via web-cam. The more I see them, the more I miss them, but I know my son is doing good work for the Navy and our country. I am so proud of him, and I am so proud of his wife and how she handles being a Navy wife and mom.

I'm a little peeved that my laptop doesn't have a built-in microphone, but my husband's does (how did THAT happen?)! However, I was able to talk through

Happy 2009 to Everyone!

I wish everyone a very Happy New Year, and am praying for all of our Navy family, and for our country.

I think 2009 will get better economy wise, and I am glad that our sailors have stability and security in their jobs. I wish the same for everyone; it is tough out there, but our nation has been through worse, and survived, and I think that as a country, we all will contribute to making 2009 the best it can be.

Enjoy your time with your children, spouses, loved ones, and friends, and may

A Guam Christmas

I was finally able to reach my son, and was glad to hear that my grandchildren were enjoying their toys immensely, and that he was cooking a leg of lamb (his mom's recipe!) and lots of interesting side dishes. One such was a spicy, fresh corn saute with butter, garlic, and cayenne pepper. Sort of a spicy accoutrement instead of the normal mint jelly (which was never definitely my thing).

Even though the grandchildren and my daughter-in-law left just barely six weeks ago after an extended vis
