DOes anyone have daughters as gunner mates? My daughter wants to change her rate from OS to GM
My daughter called me to tell me that she is thinking about changing her rate from OS to GM. I'm a little concern after reading the job description. I would love to hear from other who have daughters doing that job.

I'm a single mother of three wonderful girls and a 2 year old grandson. I have two girls going in the NAVY. I work as a real estate agent and I have a teaching degree in Early Childhood Education. I'm concern and afraid for my girls although, it was agood decision that they decided to join the Navy branch. I wish them well along with the rest of our men and women serving for this great country.

- Hey my daughter is on hold just like yours unless yours changed rates? Any telling how long this could be? My daughter sounded homesick tonight. She knew we were at a football game watching her sister perform in the band and all her friends so Im sure that played a part but being on hold sure puts a damper on things...any adivce on keeping them focused and upbeat? She just 18 and I wonder if she is second guessing her decision....Thanks for letting me get this out....hope all is going well for you and your daughter / and family....

- Im sorry to hear that she is still on hold Im sure she is more than ready to get things moving again. Yes just a few days and we are there. Lindsay said she got her orders. Moves to A school on Sept 1st about a week of docking I think she said then starts school the 8th do you think thats right? Would they tell her she going to start if she is going to be on hold? I wonder if our girls will be in the same class. Good luck to you and I hope she gets sarted soon!!!

I'm playing the guessing game on how long she will have to be in a holding pattern before she classes up. Good luck to me right. LOL..Good luck to you. What does your daughter do in the mean time? Also can you tell me once my daugter moves over to the A school side will her Liberty be the same or change? Possible we will get her for the weekend without having to be back at night?

- Hello- My daughters PIR is 8/28 and she is to be an OS. It looks like your daughter has been on hold a few weeks now. Do you know how much longer? I wonder if our daughters could end up in the same class. I'm sure you may not want to wait that long but 2 1/2 more weeks and my daughter will graduate. Is there anything you feel I need to know or want to share I am in the process of leaning....Thank you and good luck to you and your daughter
