The Ramada Inn is 3 1/2 miles - sorry for not adding that. We flew into Milwaukee (it is a much smaller airport and you just walked across the street for your car) and rented a car. We had the option of flying into Milwaukee, O'Hare or Midway since we didn't have to worry about price since we fly standby-my husband works for an airline. The hotel offered a shuttle, but we chose to drive since we would be more flexible with whatever Katie's schedule was. As it turns out, we waited for a little while in the NEX with one of her friend's family while the 2 girls got their picture packs and then went out to lunch together as they had already planned. When is your son's PIR and is he a Nuke? They have a group for them as well. Often someone sets up a PIR group too and a meet and greet the night before is often arranged. Hope all goes well at boot camp. My daughter loved getting letters - I wrote almost every day.

How are you doing? My son Ryan just left ):. The recruiter picked him up & he will spend the night near the LA airport to fly out tomorrow. Next time I will see him he will be in uniform at the PIR !!! It is so nice to be able to support each other through this site.
