When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Give him space when he is home on leave until he is ready to talk
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

Thank-you Linda,
Ben called this morning at 4:00a.m. to tell us he had arrived safely in Bremerton. Since my husband was in the Navy too he has often told Ben that the respect is some thing that is earned and takes time. Thanks for the reminder!

Hi Linda,
My son is home on leave right now and will be reporting to the Seawolf on Thurs. for the first time. He just graduated from A school and this will be his first duty station. He will be clear across the country from us. Any advice for mom? My prayer is that he will be safe and soon make friends in Bremerton.
Thanks,
Martha

Hi Linda. Hope your family is doing well. Summer is going fast!

Yesterday I discovered a You Tube video about my Navy son David's medical center at Atsugi Naval Air Facility in Japan. He is shown in the video administering an eye exam!

Linda,
I'm sorry I haven't answered you sooner, but with work I've been very busy. Charles is on the USS NEBRASKA at Bangor where all the subs are at in Washington. He is on his last tour out to sea right now. I guess he will be going to Pearl at the end of the year. I'm going out to Seattle in July to get his 2 cats, because he can't take them to Hawaii. It is too expensive, because they don't have rabies and they have to be quartine going into Hawaii. Again I'm sorry that I didn't answer you sooner.

Linda, I am sorry, I did not take any video camera, I took several pictures that I will be posting as soon as I can find some time to get them on here.

Hi Linda,
it's been over a month that I've been to my website (kinda busy...) But Mark, my husband is on daily, I'm sure. David is in Japan and so far all is well! Yes, it's great talking to him on-line and via Skype (we can actually see him!) There's a 14 hr time difference -- so our nite is his day, our day, his night. Oh well....(I called him at 7;10 this a.m. on my way to work!). We should make plans to meet you in person at Tony's -- I'll talk to Mark and we'll get something going...even if it's just you and your husband and us. Glad to hear Jeff is doing well, but I'm sure you miss him a lot!
Take care...

Hi Linda,
I don't checky my website as often as my husband, but I do remember your son from high school! He has certainly 'grown up' and looks so handsome in his uniform...you must be very proud. We will definitely have to get together for pizza at TOny's sometime in April...or may. We are so anxious to have our son home in 3 weeks -- at least for a while before Japan!
Take Care,
Gloria

Hi Linda. Yes...we can schedule a meeting in Northwest Indiana. My son David will be home in a few weeks before deploying to Japan in May, so perhaps after he has left for Japan would be a good time for us. My wife and I were in Puerto Vallarta this past week. Left the warm weather for this snow!

Hope your move to your new offices went well. I shut the Northwest Indiana Moms Site down...not enough traffic on it. We can use the Indiana Moms Site once we have established a date for a meeting in Northwest IN.
