About me:
Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey and I'm a 22 year old recent college graduate with a BFA in Theatre Performance. My sailor's name is Julian. He is a MMFA (Machinist Mate Fireman Apprentice) in the Sub Force, and I love him with all of my heart.

I'm here to meet people who know what I'm going through and are looking to make friends to share stories with, and to give advice to/get advice from all about our amazing sailors.

Feel free to message me anytime! I can't wait to hear from you all!
I am here to support or represent my:
Spouse/Significant other
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
to support your sailor. They go through a lot physically and emotionally while in the Navy and having someone who loves and supports them means a lot to them. I am so unbelievably proud of my sailor and it is my job to remind him of that every day, that I love him, to stay positive and keep a smile on that handsome face of his. I also learned that love can truly conquer all and that absence really does make the heart grow fonder because I was so afraid to become official with my boyfriend in fear that the Navy would tear us apart and leave us heartbroken. Luckily he swept me off my feet, leaving me so positive that I needed to be with him, that there was no backing out. And now I find that though being a sailor's girlfriend is a tough job, getting through being away from your sailor isn't impossible when you are head over heels in love and know that you have your soul mate coming home to you. <3
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hey sugar sugar,
I hope the new job is treating you kind. I rarely get on this thing because I don't have the time and I am semi-addicted to FB. I know time is creeping slowly to an end for the time being, but I wanted to give you a mini "you can do this" motivational speech. You can do this because distance is humbling and sometimes our hearts need to be humbled. People become comfortable within their relationships, and although comfortability is just that, comfortable, it is frightening. Every day of your life with Julian should be an adventure... it should be about the anticipation of what is going to happen in your future together.... it should be about how you don't think you could ever love him anymore than you do right at this very moment, but then you wake up the next morning loving him more than you did before you fell asleep. You might forget where the lines are on his face when he smiles, you might get sad and feel like your heart won't feel right until he walks off that boat, and you might cry (a lot and ruin all of your make-up so you quit putting any on)- and all of that is okay. It's okay to WANT him to come home, but don't let yourself every say you NEED him home. You can do this, and as a result, you will love each other so much more because anyone who can love that far away knows how to really love and that is the type of love you and Julian deserve. So there you go, you can do this and I am so glad to be there every step of the way.

Love,
Birdy

Hey Lindsey. So now we're thinking of getting married in January on the beach with a JP all bundled up lol. We found a guy who wont accept a penny from military couples so that'll be nice. Then we can get started on my health care and finding housing and BAH and everything. We'll still do the church and everything in April- even though we'll already be married! Haha oh my how plans change. Alex leaves any day now so we're just trying to act like it's not happening and video chat as much as possible. He got a roomate for the first time last week so that's been a pain, he's always there. God I can't wait til Christmas to see his adorable face at the airport and hug him for hours.

I'm in the library at school right now. So relaxing. Just handed in my senior writing portfolio so I'm just dying for the next 60 days to pass so I can be OUT OF COLLEGE AHHHH I can't wait haha. Started my application to a grad school in WA last night, scaryyy...

It's hard to talk wedding with your boy when you don't have a ring on your finger huh? I don't either and I'm sick of people asking to see it. It's like, we're Navy girlfriends, we've been fiances since he left for boot camp lol.

To answer your question, a paraeducator is a special education aide in a public school. Right now I work for Easter Seals and the program is private. They have branches in WA though thank God! Maybe I can transfer easily...We'll see.

I saw snowflakes today!! <3 <3

Hi Lindsey! Honestly some days are hell! The hardest was last week for 3 days days he could send e-mails, but wouldn't receive what I sent to him. He was really worried, and thought that I was mad at him. I felt so bad! But, we got that taken care of so, it's a lot better now! Since he left in late July, I have got one phone call. It was an hour long, so it was really nice. My only secret is to find girls that have dealt with a deployment already, or ones that are going through it now. They will be so helpful and supportive! You will always have me to turn to!
That is so awesome how close you are to him! Brandon is stationed 7 hours away, and bless his heart he still came home almost every weekend! We are also planning on getting married in May. We just chose the date of May 29th last night. He say's it the final date, but I want to wait until I have my ring until I start planning. The hardest thing about Brandon being away is that it's going to happen again, and again. It kills me to know that goodbye is always in our future. I'm glad that this deployment cam right after Brandon was finished with A-School so I got a good idea of what it'll be like. I know how hard it is not to think about his deployment, but you really need to try and be thankful that it is only 6 weeks longs.Brandon will be gone a total of 6 months. I still have to think it could be worse, at least Brandon is not in Iraq, and I feel that he is somewhat safe. I'm not trying to be mean at all, I'm here to help you with what you are going through. Everyone is facing their own challenges and we as military girlfriends need to be there for each other!
