I agree completely with you Lily AJ!!! My son left the end of June for BC. He wasn't supposed to leave until October but there was an opening. We had 3 weeks to get ready. I came to realize that the pain of childbirth was NOTHING compared to letting…

What you said about the Bible worries me. My son is leaving for Boot Camp in Great Lakes next week and I was planning on giving him the Bible as he leaves. How big was the one your son had? It will be hard enough watching him leave without falling t…

About me:
I am a married mother of two, Josh 21 yrs and RJ 4 yrs. My son just recently signed with the Navy. I'm very proud of him but now I'm trying to be happy for him.
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I have got to let go and turn him over to God. God blessed me beyond measure with him, now it's time to see what kind of job I did. In my heart Josh will always be my sweet blonde headed, blue eyed, baby boy but in reality he is now a wonderful, kind, (still blue eyed!!) handsome adult son whom I love SO VERY much!!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Lisa, Oh I remember the day Cassie left, I broke down the night before , we had stayed up late and watched TV, I was fine in tell we said good night, she had already told me not to come out in the morning, it would be to hard for her, when I got to bed it was like losing my child, we were very close. The first year was very hard, I still miss her everyday, think of her always. But she has done sooo much, and I am so very proud of her, then after she had been in for a 1 , my son joined, he had lived away from me for a few year's so it was a little easier,I wrote them both letters everyday, I carry my phone everywhere, Pray, Pray, Know he will be in Gods hand's, you raised a fine young man, that he wants to serve his Country, Tell him Thank You!!!!!! God Bless, I will be Praying for you!! Your daughter is so cute It will be hard on her, but you all will be fine. What is Josh going in for???

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings

Hi lisa, I'm new also new on here. My son just left for boot camp on the 14 of this month. It's been a couple of days for me now. Your son sounded so much like mine, a little boy with blond hair and blue eyes. :-) I am proud yet afraid yet again proud.. I miss him, but he was so excited when he left to get on with doing something worthwhile with his life. I know you must also be afraid and proud. I fully understand your fears. Josh is a good young man and I know both of us are going to see the most amazing and good changes in our sons. :-) We got kids in the Navy! :-) It aint jail or prison or a job they are stuck with that they hate. There are so many bright sides to this. :-) Hang in there! We got great kids!
