According to our son, even with the incorrect address, the packages that had the name of the ship still got to the addressee. That's good news for you. Let us know what happens; especially if you get a call from him. That would sure be a sweet treat for sure.

Hi LisaAnn, our son's unit number changed from 40590 to 40301. It helps to put "USS Cleveland" somewhere in the address eventhough they don't tell you to. I got an e-mail from the FRO (Family Readiness Officer) that the mail clerk on board the ship changed the address some time after they deployed and didn't let anyone know. Also, mark the space on the Customs Form that you want the package returned it is can't be delivered for some reason. I guess no one could figure out what the problem was until the senders started getting the packages back. Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome Lisa Ann, Glad to have you in our group. Your in good company here, plenty of Marine Mom's and Dad's here for support and conversation. Happy to have ya!! My Son is Navy on the Cleveland and is on the flight deck. This is our first deployment, and I soooo can't wait till it's over - lol

My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy since July 2007 and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19), an SH, has been in since Feb 2008 and is deployed on the USS Nimitz. What is your son/daughter doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
