I am moving back from Edwardsburg, MI. It is a small town 19 miles southeast of Niles, MI & 15 minutes from Elkhart, IN & Granger, IN. I understand how hard it is going to be for you to have Tyler not there every day, but it really will be worth the pain once he gets through it all. My son, Allen is coming home to visit in mid-May and he is bringing a Marine friend from his station. I am so excited to see him, since we have seen him since July, 2008 and meeting one of his friends. He has made so many friends that he probably wouldn't have if he didn't enlist in the Navy. It will be really nice to know having other moms in Jackson to meet with once I get moved back. I pray that I can get some kind of job so that I can move back by July. I will keep you and Tyler in my prayers. Hope to talk to you soon. Always here to listen & support. God Bless you all!

This terminology is like Greek to me too! We talked to the recruiter about going earlier also and he said he can start the paperwork. He graduates from Jackson in May, so he can't of course go until then. Will is going to be a fire control tech or an electronics control tech, tho they are trying to talk him into going into the nuclear power program. I was really apprehensive until he actually got sworn in and now I'm excited for him--maybe because he's so excited. He made the comment that he didn't even really want to go to school today and when I asked why, he said he didn't feel like he'd fit in anymore. It almost seems like he's matured (right word?) overnight. I think I can tell a big difference since he actually did the deed. Does that seem silly?

Hey Lisa, I just realized that you are on here. I am originally from Jackson myself and my son calls Jackson home. His father still lives there. I am planning on moving back by July of this year myself. My son is 20(almost 21) and has been in almost 2 years now. Welcome to N4Ms. Maybe we could email each other and tell each other more about ourselves and sailors. I have a sister who's name is Lisa with a son (my nephew) who is Tyler and I thought maybe my nephew enlisted with the Navy. LOL They are from Jackson also. Well, drop me a line so we can get to know each other. Always here for other moms who need to talk.

Feel free to join any of them. Everyone is friendly. We are all in the same "boat" Pun intended :)
