When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
He has made a wonderful choice for himself. He will stay out of trouble this way and he will see the world. And even though I am feeling the emptiness, and I am sure he is too, he made this choice and it is what he wants to do, and I have to have the patience and understanding to get him through this.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Lisa, I see your from Michigan, My son is on the Carl Vinson, they just got their deck certifications today. He must really be excited. that means more pay for them. He went in on Valentine's Day 2008, and is an ABF, which is a grape, as they say, he fuels the jets. He is my youngest son, and am very proud of him, as I'm sure you are of your son. When he signed up, his father, grandfather, and two older brothers told him, he wouldn't make it. You know what he did, and I can't be more happy, because at his young age he can go see the world, before settling down, at their expense, save money and get a college education too. My son is on the Carl Vinson Navy for Moms web page, he signed up because he got tired of mom asking him all kinds of questions and asking for pictures. He has really helped the moms by answering questions. He has a very kind heart, its hard to tell what he is going to do next.

Hey Lisa,
Yes you can send a package to the ship, and from what I have heard it takes about 2 weeks to get the mail to the ship. Sometimes a little shorter.

Yeah, my son has mentioned that they are backed up, but I don't know what "phase" is is in... he hasn't said. Not much of a talker that boy. I have to remember to ask if I want to know something! I must have talked to you before on the Bravo disscusion, I don't know. If your son is anything like my son, he kinda has learned some of lifes hard lessons and is veruy happy to be in the Navy and will keep his nose clean because thay know it is the best place for them to be. My son has always wanted to get away from home and travel, and this his his opportunity...he won't blow it , and niether will your son. My son is guilty of chasing girls alittle too much I think!!!
