He is in music school in Virginia now. He just finished his theory mid-term and got between 3.5, 3.9, and two 4.0s on the different sections. Yay! He also found out this week that he has the highest score in ear training. That would be awesome if...

Lisa- I'm a Navy mom in Washington State. We had a Navy rock band performing at the 4th of July celebration here in Poulsbo. I have some sorta okay pictures I snapped with my cell phone. Do you know of anyone with a sailor in Navy Band Seattle that might was to see them? That is their home command I believe.

we could have flown to Japan anytime in the past 2 years as my husband is retired military (also a musician). We fly space available. I could never talk myself into going so far since I just had back surgery and the pain meds I was on for 5 weeks caused panic attacks. To go there, it would be 16 hours closed in on a plane and sitting is what hurts my back the most. Otherwise, we would have definitely gone.

Hi Lisa, I just joined your group, Lisa (below) told me about your group! I've been looking for other moms - I know another mom, Lori and I'll send her the name of the group - her son is also in Japan but will be moving back to the states this summer.

Hi Lisa, Thanks for answering back. I was interested in your group because one of my best friends on here has a daughter in the Navy band. She just recently arrived in Japan. You are right about changing the name of your group. Moms of Navy Musicians does describe it better. I will let my friend Kathy know about your group and I'm sure she would love to talk to another mom of a musician. And yes, the change in them is amazing because it seems to happen so quick. I haven't seen my son in almost 18 months. He is planning on coming home in August with his new wife (whom I have yet to meet.) I miss him so much. It's so nice to meet you. I'm going to go tell Kathy now. :) I'll be in touch.
