I have two sons stationed in Okinawa - they've been there since Feb'08 - we are going to visit them in less than 3 weeks - for their 20th birthdays! We are SO excited! Both sons are Corpsman, one blue side, one green. Hope to hear from you soon!

Wow, I can't believe I let so much time go by. Ben's graduation went great, he got to come home for two weeks at Christmas (which went by really fast). He is down in Pensacola, Fl. at search and rescue swimmers school right now. His girlfriend is down there visiting right now. Last weekend they got engaged. I stopped at the secretary of states office in coldwater and they said you were not there any more.
Hope to hear back from you soon. Angie

Jordan did extend for 6mos. due to getting married and having the baby. He is reinlisting..due to the economy. Plans to take labs for C school at Naval Hospital. Then go into med-school and with the knowledge of labs, use that to work in a lab for extra money. Has it all planned out. All I want is to see my son...

Lisa-so great to hear from you! I am so excited for you and your sons. I know you will have the most wonderful time. Jordan, does take care of himself. He is a health freak. I spoke with him for an hour on skype, I was closing down my computer when the alert poped up. He said he would not be returning home until his May 2010. Then, he will go to his next duty station, San Deigo. He will take his C-school there. I was crying when I our conversation ended. That will be over 3 yrs since I have seen him, plus my grandson will be a year old. I hope I can go for the birth of my grandchild. That would be such a blessing, if you would check things out for me. Jordan will be on his 30 day leave when the baby is born. He has to use it by Sept 9th. I will be talking to you soon...Cindy

Hi Lisa,
Do you have your kimono packed or are you going to wear it to the airport. lol
You must be getting so excited. I know you will have a wonderful time. I will be waiting for pictures and for the snow to melt. :) How long will you be gone? I see you haven't RSVP'd to the Frankenmuth meet and greet on June 27th. Hope you will be there. We still haven't decided on a Ponderosa date. Hopefully this month. It won't be as busy as the past couple of months. I'll let you know.

Yep. Archer is on the southern chain of lakes. Coldwater lake is on one end, Marble is on the other. We are next to Marble and they are all hooked together by channels. It's pretty fun, at least in the warmer weather!! Some people also call our lake Middle Lake. We are in off Fremont Rd if you know where that is. We spend way too much time at Walmart and Meijer in the summer!

Hi Lisa,
Your Coldwater Mi address caught my eye when I was looking at the MI mom's site. We are currently living in Ohio but have a cottage on Archer Lake and plan to move there, hopefully within this year. Great to know someone else from that area!

Hi Lisa- My son works at Bush Medical Clinic (Camp Courtney) he also is attached to the Marines. I know how you feel...haven't seen my son in over a yr. You become legal @ 20 in Japan. Jordan had his big blowout party last yr. Infact, today is his 21st Birthday. All I can do is light a Blue candle & cry. I don't know about accommodations..I have asked Jordan that as well. I would think so. They did at Camp Pendelton (San Deigo) didn't know that either, Jordan forgot to remember & it was cheap $25. a night on the beach. Have you checked the price of airfare!! I plan on going over end of July. I know Naha is the closest town 40 mins away. I will see what I can find out. I am excited for you May is not so far off!! Let me know what you find out. What are your sons names? I will see if Jordan knows them. Jordan has been there since 09/07. Hugs and stay warm, Cindy

Hi Lisa, I am so happy for you going to Okinawa to see your boys. It sounds like a wonderful time. We have a trip planned for August when Lyndsy gets back from her deployment to the Florida Keys. Lyndsy and Dale (my husband, Lyndsy's dad) are scuba divers and they want to go to John Kennecamp State Park to dive. I love the beautiful coral and fish but I do it from the top. I am not a diver. I can see them just as fine from the top, the water is so clear. We are going to drive our fifth wheel and the boat down and we are going to camp for 10 days so it is going to be a riot. Keep me posted with your plans for your trip. May will be here before you know it.

Hi Lisa, We did have a nice Christmas but you are right, it's just not the same without all the kids home. We are going to head for Texas in June to see our son and our new dil. Wow! Japan? That will be a wonderful trip I'm sure. Do the boys know you are planning on coming or are you going to surprise them?
I'll try to get Jeff in the mood for Ponderosa sometime this month. I'll let you know when we decide on a date. Hopefully soon.

Profile Information

About me:
I am 39 and married to a Fireman who was previously in the Air Force. We met when he was stationed in England - that's where I'm from - so yes, I'm British, well, I'm a U.S. citizen, but still have a funny accent I'm told :). We have twin sons (very handsome I might add) who are Corpsman - both stationed in Okinawa, Japan. The last couple of years have been a big adjustment without them - as they're such sweet, good, young men, but we can't be any prouder and are now starting to enjoy our "empty" house!

Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
