I could sit for hours and look at photographs that others have taken - even though I have my own photography business I truly appreciate the creativity and "moments" that others capture. There HAS to be an easier way for us to upload to an off-sit...

Kelly: It is my oldest son, Zach, who is a submariner stationed in Kingsbay, Georgia. He is a Culinary Specialist so everyone loves him or they don't get to eat :-}. He signed up for 5 and this August will be 3; he is undecided as to whether he wi...

They do not understand the importance of pictures! I am a professional photographer so it is a passion but I HAVE to take lots of photos of Zach when he is home because it could be a year before I see him again. Luckily both boys are good sports s...

So Matt is a submariner? If so, what sub? They never know where they are headed and if they do it is a matter of priority that they don't tell until they arrive back. Honestly, Zach doesn't know and usually doesn't care as long as it is a schedule...

Well, Virginia would be much closer than San Diego but those Navy boys like to be on the West Coast. I have taken the train so many times...Indianapolis used to have service that went from here to Chicago and I love Chicago so I would go for a wee...

Hi, Kelly - ask anything about the Navy and one if not all of us have experience the same thing at one time. On my profile I state that the biggest thing to learn while a loved one is in the Navy is patience. It is hurry up and wait for paperwork,...

Profile Information

About me:
Personal Info: Mother of two boys - Zach, Culinary Specialist, U.S. Navy, Kingsbay, GA; Cameron, College Student obtaining Masters in Social Work.

Own two small business; one with my Husband, a lawn fertilization/mowing company and I am the owner of LP Photo; lead photographer based in Broad Ripple. I am also a Paralegal working on-line from home (which is really cool; sitting in pajamas, drinking coffee and making money).

My Husband is also a musician playing in local spots around the Indianapolis area; my youngest son is a budding musician but not old enough to be in a bar :-}

I am also a ballroom dancer; photography and dancing have always been the two true "passions" of my life so I consider myself fortunate to be able to do the things that make me feel "free" and creative.

Sorry for the long bio!

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Patience. You are always waiting. It could be for leave time, results of a test for higher rank, absolutely everything is just hurry up and wait.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi
I'm a Carmel High School grad and attended Butler U. My hubby proposed to me just after I was driving home from work through Broad Ripple! (this was before cell phones--lol) Love the Jazz Kitchen.

He is a CS1, so there is a lot he can do without too much shoulder strain at this time. This will be the 2nd surgery on this shoulder, so if it isn't successful, he may be off subs due to all the ladders. I hope your son doesn't have to have his tonsils out, it is little bit harder the older ones to bounce back! I will be in CT with my son for his surgery, so I am going to miss the dinner. I hope to make it to the next one, however.

How does Zach like Kingsbay? Have you been there yet? We went down several times while Jason was there. It is a day-long drive, but there are several things to do that are close. It was worth the trip, and of course you get to see your son!

Lori, I live just west of Indy. My son is a CS, spent his first 6 years in Kings Bay on subs. He is now in his 13th year, still sub qualified, but has had some shore duty in those years, also. Currently, he is in Groton awaiting shoulder surgery, and hoping to get back to a sub by the end of the year. Glad to hear from an Indiana submariner culinary specialist mom!
