Hi Lynda,
My husband just got home from a business trip and said he will have to go to Japan in January and invited me to go with him. He will be going to Toyko. He will be in business meetings all day and I would love to see my son. I saw that you just came back from Japan so I would love to hear about your trip. Did your daughter get leave time? Mike has been in Japan since June. He sounds so home sick. Joyce

Hi Lynda,
This is Kim K. from TN and I am so happy for you and your daughter Sarah were in Japan. What a wonderful experience for you both. I hope to visit our son Kurt some day on the GW too. He has been there since this Sept. '09. I could use all the direction and advice on how to plan and do this type of trip. How was Japan? Where did you stay? How much time did you have to visit with Sarah?
Hope to hear from you soon. Rest up . Happy Dec. 1st tomorrow. Sincerely, Kim K.

Lynda, I just got back from Japan. It was a great experience. The only thing about going when they just get back is that they are all very tired. They work very hard when they are deployed and it really showed when i saw my son. He was happy we were there but i could tell he was exhausted.

Hi Lynda,
My name is Julie. My son is on the ship to and he had his tonsiles out last year I think around Jan. He was on medical leave and got to come home for a week or so. He was fine, don't worry. He had soo many problems over his life time with them and none of the doctors would do anything about it. But he still gets sore throats now and then, but I don't think its anywhere as bad as before. It would be nice if I really knew if they weren't as bad, ya know what I mean? He is 22 so he doesn't always tell me stuff, but he did email last week one line that said I got the flu haven't done much love you! Wow thats about all I ever get from him. I guess he is lazy or to tired. He works in medical now so I really don't know too much about what he does there.
Well hope your daughter feels better after she gets them out and doesnt have any problems later on. Good luck and God Bless all of our Sailors!

Lynda ~ Are you sure the address is Box 34? Berta hasn't received any of the boxes that I sent her. She sent an email saying that the address is Box 31. Has Sarah received any boxes on the ship?

Berta hasn't received the boxes I sent her yet. Berta has met Hailey. That's awesome that she made the team. Berta was the cheerleader, not the player. If I'm not mistaken, when it returns is when Berta and Hailey will be moving on to the ship. Berta said they are spending a lot of time cleaning, she volunteered at the elementary school and loved it.
Thank you very much for the address. It will be the first time that she is away from home for her birthday. It seems we are going thru alot of firsts since she left for Boot Camp right before Thanksgiving. Christmas in the Chicago Midway Airport was different. She was grad'n go.
She is looking forward to going out on the carrier.
