About me:
I am the mom to 5 and I have been married to my husband for 30 years. Our children mean the world to us and are all special in their own way.We have 4 guys-ages 29,24,21,and 14.One daughter who is 25. We are a very close family and love to spend time together, especially at a good football game. Go GATORS!!!!!!!!!
Colt is our third oldest and the first of any of our children to join the military. We are very proud of him as it has been a long road and he has worked very hard to obtain his goal. Thanks to some great friends along the way who went out of their way to help him study and the encouragement from so many, he has stayed focused and can not wait to start the next leg of his journey. The question is- Are we ready?
Seeing him in his uniform was the best, well actually just seeing him made it all worth the wait. He is loving the Navy and can not wait to go to his next duty station :D The change is undiscribable but wonderful. So proud of him and all of our military men and women. He is currently deployed.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
the opportunities that he would have and to hear the excitement in his voice and his attitude when he talks about the Navy.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Your parents are priceless. I'm not too far away from their technology knowledge. Very thankful that I have my boys to show me the ropes. Think how horrible it must have felt just 20 years go to not have the technology to communicate so easily. Wind is getting worse. Anxious to see who's Xmas decorations I will have in my yard when I get home. Take Care and keep me posted

Hi Lynn, I'm so glad that you hooked up with skype. It's funny that I see my son more now than I had prior to him going over to Bahrain. We get on line with eachother every weekend. He is a mine sweep so they don't work in the evenings. Although he does have watch on some weekends. The time difference is our only enemy but he's 26 so he can stay up much later than me. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving

Lynn, we use Skype to see/talk to each other. Might want to try this out. It's great to send/receive messages but nothing beats actually seeing your child, at least to me.

Hi Lynn, moms, my son took his lap top with him to Bahrain. My husband and I went out and bought a web cam and hooked it up to our computer. Now we get to see and talk to our son every week. Best investment I've made all year. The hard part is the big time difference.

Hey, yes my hubby is a 24 yr LT Medic with Orange County here in Orlando. Man loves his job (I am so grateful). Cool to hear about your son, does he like it there in Bahrain? I think my son will eventually end up there at some time or another. So glad to hear from you

We're a Brandon family so we're practically neighbors. My son Jason is our only son to join the military. We are so proud of him. Family is everything to us. Jason is in week 2 at bootcamp and we just got our first letter today so I am so relieved. I'm still a mess but better than the first week.

Hi Lynn! What ship is your son currently on? Mine is on the USS Cleveland and is also deployed. Our first deployment, but it is getting a tad easier, however the missing him has not gotten easier. Hope your doing well

I was just outside taking a break and YUKKKKKKKKKK. Enough with the humidity. My husband and I are going to a halloween party then end of the month and I told him I could not wear a costume if it stays as hot as it has been. Hoping this weekend will last and not just pass through town like it did a couple of weeks ago. Really happy that you communicate so much with your son. It's the only time that I've loved technology.

Hi Lynn, no I'm not sure who his roomrates are. I'll have to find out. My son is really bad on returning emails. He likes to Skype us on Fridays so I'll have to remember to ask.

I'm not sure if he went to dance or not. If he had to work the next morning then I'm thinking that no he did not go. He's been having to either get up at 5 am or be to work by 5 am. I'll shoot him and email and ask him about the drink and dance. On another note, are you over our hot weather here. I know it's not as bad as what our boys are going through but I'm over ours.
