Donna: My son's first ship was a carrier, the USS JFKennedy, it was decommissioned on 2007, since then, he is on a destroyer. He likes it much better, he did not know all of the 5000 sailors on the carrier, compared to the 200-300 on a destroyer. Do…

Dan, is down at Penscola in air rescue school and Mike who's pic is the main is still at great lakes now on medical hold. Found a shadow on his brain last week. So saying my prayers and trying to find out more.
So Rochester, I'm about 45 south east between Canandaigua lake and Honeoye lake. Only get up to roch about 1 month these days. I keep telling Dan I would rather be in FL too cause this summer isn't really summer. And like your son, Dan doesn't really miss the snow and we are only about 15 min from Bristol Ski mountain. But he was never a big skier.

So sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, we have been quite busy, Corey was suppose to be home for 10 days but ended up staying a little longer as he great grandma passed away when he was home. My other son Ryan was able to get leave and also come home for the funeral so I had two of my sailors her for 7 days together. Nathan is still in Afghanistan and seems to be doing okay, he has been in the very active area lately, but has been able to send short emails saying the he is okay so that is a little bit of comfort.

Homecoming was beautiful, I am so happy that we were able to make it down, my son Ryan has a friend that is stationed in Jacksonville, so he was able to come over and give us a grand tour of the base the day before the homecoming so day of homecoming we could enjoy it so much more. It was a long ride but very much worth it.

That sounds like a great idea! I've been reading about the Navy Weeks info sent by the N4Moms admin. They'll be sending out info as they
receive it.

Hi Mabel,
I hope all is well with your house!! I saw the fire on the news last night and figured that it was the one you were talking about. Were there 3 houses that burned? I hope no one was hurt badly. Anyway, a Happy Birthday to your son!! Mine has just left Washington, DC with his squadron for a detachment overseas. Maybe we Navy Moms can get together another time!

Hi Mabel. I haven't see my son in almost a year now (April2008). His ship's home base is Pearl and I'm in NY. We did go out there in April and that was wonderful. I don't think we will get back there this year, and I am not sure Michael will come home this year. We do communicate through email, so at least it is something.
