Hi Maggie, I posted a blog last month regarding our sending holiday cheer to the Nimitz Strike Group. If you're still interested in helping, please let me know what you would like to send. Most are sending stockings w/ candy or goodie bags w/ treats from home. Thanks, Pat

Hi Maggie,
We just moved 6 weeks ago, so I feel your pain! Brian is doing the job of two or three officers who were not able to deploy. He is usually the electrical officer, but now is MPA.
I would love to help do whatever is needed.
Yes, I'm on Pat's/ Nimitz holiday site but they say the Rentz is taken care of. :) I guess that would be us???:)
How do you get the Rentz newsletter?

Thanks!

Hi Maggie,
My son Brian is also on the Rentz. It is his/my first long deployment. He did meet the ship after he was first commissioned but this is very different!!! It sounds like you have the Rentz pretty well covered, but I would love to do whatever you think would be appropriate to help.

HI Maggie, Yes, we'll be down in SD when it first pulls in but not up north in homeport. I had one of those banners made and got it at the beginning of January. His welcome home banner. Hope all is well with you. Take care, Karen.

HI Maggie, Just catching up on messages here tonite. I am in Southern California but my son's homeport is up north in Washington. Will be greeting him when the ship pulls into San Diego. And sure, would love to have you here to greet the ship but unfortunately your too far away. :-( My son will be coming back in while yours will be leaving. What does your son Blake do in SD?

Maggie. I live in Northfield. My son is 21 and attended NT high School. He did try college right out of high school but it wasn't for him. He then became an EMT & rode ambulance for a while before enlisting. He is now a Corpsman doing FMTB at Camp Lejeune. Please contact me if you want to get together.

I am running days behind but am trying to get to all new members... so will try to catch up tonight.
Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Said “No way!”
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To let him learn and explore his own path and journey in his life...with a GREAT foundation he will make the best decisions for him...And lot's of prayers, helps!!!! And to Support and Encourage them often....Lot's of home cookin when he is home seals the bond..(:
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
The Navy has a lot to offer
