Can I brag about something then too? We recently got a note from Jesse's captain telling us that he had been chosen "Avenger of the Week" for developing a help desk website for the ship. I made him send me a copy of the article from the ship's newsl…

Ok, I just have to share this one with you ladies... We got a nice note in the mail from Jesse's captain, saying that he was picked "Avenger of the Week" onboard the USS George HW Bush a couple of weeks ago. As I understand it, it's kinda like being…

Hi Maggie!

Sorry it's been so long - things are busy for me and it just keeping running out of "me" time!

I hope to be up in Ft. Cllins next week - I have a rack to move at RB+B Architects and then I would love to get together with you.

Wow - that was quite an award that Jessie won! How exciting! I know that he is going to do well in the Navy. I think they should have put him in the Nuke program - how did he do on his ASFAB?

Anyway - I can't wait to see you and really get caught up. As soon as I can coordiate something I will let you know. Hopefully it will stop raining and we cansit outside somewhere!

Dear Maggie,
Hey stranger, how are you? It has been awhile. I'm still here, this is my life! HAHA!! It's funny, I'm balancing two websites now, here and the Cochlear Community Here, I'm like the old timer, there I'm the new kid asking questions! HAHA!! This Navy for moms is more fun though. The other website, I write to about 12 people, they are not writers over there at all.
The other website, the members are deaf and have had the surgery the Cochlear Implant, which I am hoping to be accepted for.

That's all great news about Jesse, I'll keep him in my prayers
I never heard that the Avenger of the week!! Good for him!!
They all buy cars, Kim did too.

I'm a nerveous wreck when she drives up, 7 hours! UGH! Her ship has been finally doing 5 day test run cruisers. Thank God....the first cruise they had 4 fires on board. Imagine if they were really out to seas!

Summer isn't going fast enough for me!! You remember, I hate the heat!! But this summer has been, my husband took me to another ENT doctor that also specializers in Meniere's Disease. He's the one who has me being evaulated for this surgery, and God willing, in a few weeks, I'll have a hearing aide for my other ear. SO some progress is being done for me! HAHA!!

I'm going to check out that www.US flags. I also have an ornament that has the USS Normandy on it, that's Kim's ship. Thank you for letting me know.
Let me get going. You stay well and cool.
Take care and God bless you and Jesse,
Your friend,
Barbara

Dear Maggie,
My long lost friend, how you been? Yeah, I'm still around, it's a year now that I have been witting stready. It fills my hours! HAAH!

I wish Jesse all the best. What job does he do?
Kim's ship finally is taking 5 day test run cruises. Thank God,...... the first cruise the ship had 4 fires on board! I like the way Kim said, "We know how to put out fires". I'm glad to hear that, but there shouldn't have been any fires to put out!! HAHA!

Up to now, Kim did all odd jobs and was crossed trained for all the jobs on the ship. That's good to hear. She's also in Norfork Virginia, on the USS Normandy. This week, they pick up their weapons, what every mom dreams off !! UGH!!
They are expected to deploy in Februrary.

Were did you get the Navy flag? I'd like one and put it in my bay window.
I have Navy pins and even a Navy sticker on my walker, when I walk in parades with the Navy for moms!! HAHa!

Good for you, have a safe trip to Denver. I want ot go to Massachuttes, but no one wants to go. I was hoping since last year, to go to Plymouth, Massachuttes, for this month. But the money has been tight. Maybe next year.

I was hoping to get away with my husband, June 9 was 30 years since we first met. We went out for dinner, but I was hoping for a long weekend. I want to go whale watching!! HAHA!

My older daughter plans to drive to Virginia, to see Kim. Without me! Can't you just feel the love!! UGH! I know, I'm more a burden. What they plan to do, I have no interest in, like Bush Gardens, and I forgot what else.

I've been balancing two websites! HAHA!~ Here and the Cochlear Community,. I have a new ENT doctor, and he has me being evaluated for the surgery for the cochlear implant, it's a hearing device. I did research on it, and then my husband told me of that website. It's all members that are deaf, who have had that surgery. I write to about 12 women now. But no one is really into writting there, not like here. I get maybe one or two messages a day from there. Oh well.

I'll let you get going. Enjoy your vocation! HAve a safe trip!
Take care and God bless.
Your friend,
Barbara

Hi Maggie, How are things out in CO, here is FL it's been raining everyday for the past month. When you talk to Jess please tell him to find or text Danielle, they are going to Bush Gardens this week end and want to know if Jess wants to get away from the ship for awhile. It was so good to hear thier voices yesterday when they got close enough to call. Hope you have a great day.

Hi Maggie. Yes, I know it must be killing you to not be able to keep in close contact with Jesse. I know moms on my IT site use Skype a lot. A few of them have sailors in Italy. I know nothing about Skype but I guess I will when it comes the time that we need to. Justin hasn't had his 'sea legs' put on yet. He thinks that will come at the end of this 4 year sign up. Where he is at, Whigby Island, WA is an air base. He says it wakes him up at night a lot because the planes fly at all hours. He had cable tv installed so that and xbox is his life, for now, as he's not allowed to speak to those with a higher rank than him (weird huh?). He says there's nobody there with his low of a rank. He doesn't want to 'rank up' because he doesn't want all the responsiblities, he says. We can talk to him via phone, email and text however we just don't often speak really because don't want to interuppt him and the 3 hr. time zone diff. We, pretty much, let him call us. Even with not knowing anybody he says he likes it still, which is good.

Hi Maggie...this is NavyMom...my name is Holly....my email is j_t_kent@hotmail.com...if you tell me how my son can get in touch with your son...preferably while on ship,..I'll get Jesse on James' "youngsters list". My James has been in the Navy for over 12 years...he is much older--39...his wife, Margaret is a gym teacher.. They used to live on base and Margaret was the Housing Area "Mayor"..so they ere very active with Navy life. They have already made all the mistakes and figured out the shortcuts. They think that part of their duty is to help the "youngsters"...The last "youngin" I sent to them is now a Junior at Annapolis.
Don't hesitate to contact us! Holly

Hi Maggie - It was great to hear from you. Liz is finally in Pensacola. She's been there for a month. We drove over to see her about 3 weeks ago. She's not sure when she will class up but she's hoping around the end of June of so. So she's a bit frustrated. She loves the beach so she is right at home in Pensacola. It's a beautiful base. She's is just anxious to get things going. She's working as a Yeoman at the School of Air Traffic Controllers.

How's Jess doing? How are you? How often do you see him and where is he now? So many questions. It was great to hear from you. Let's stay in touch from time to time.
