Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That you know nothing...that's hard...not being able to have anything communicated to you and not being able to communicate with your son/daughter!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Marianne, I wanted to welcome you to the AECF group! I've been out of town for a couple of weeks so I'm late in my welcomings. Is your son an Aviation ET? I was just looking at your groups and see that you are part of the California and Aviation groups, if Aaron is with Aviation rate, you probably won't want to hang out in AECF as it does not include Aviation - even if they are ETs. The schooling is totally different and A school is in GL and then C school varies. I just don't want the conversation in AECF to confuse you - it won't apply to Aaron if he is in California. If you have any questions that I can help with - please let me know.

looking at your pics again: This ceremony must be pretty awesome. I am praying that somehow God will make the impossible possible that somehow I/we would get there..
Watching the temperatures in Chicago/Great Lakes I feel for my southern boy. He is not used to anything like that.
Where is your kid now, sorry, somehow I missed that part.

Where from NC are you? Are you familiar with Max Patch? There is also some place right outside of Greeneville. I forgot now the name when you go from Gatlinburg through the Smokies to NC. It has been a while for me.
The closest to us is the Gatlinburg/Townsend/Cades Cove area, of course. My (navy) son loves climbing so he went to NC quiet a bit, Asheville area, Montreat. It s just so beautiful out there. You don t really need anything else.

You have nice photos up. I always relied on my kids to do that for me. Now I really need to get myself finally into all of that. Don t really have the patience and especialla not the time to learn that all by myself now

Oh, now I remember. For some reason we rarely went this direction. We all love hiking and usually go to NC for that.

Also, do you know of any sailors who did not have someone come to the graduation? Must be pretty awful, I m assuming... what are these kids doing when others greet their families?

Hi Marianne,

Just saw that you are from Smyrna, I m not sure right now where in TN that is (sorry). My son is from Knoxville, grad jan. 9. Not sure yet at if/how we can make it to the grad. How where the weather/road conditions when you went?

Missing my sailor already...

I don't know about anyone else...but I am already missing my sailor and he doesn't leave until tomorrow!!!
