Dawn, if you are down in Kailua, be sure to stop in and get some Macadamia nut pancakes in Boots and Kimo's. They were fantastic...they were well worth the wait in line to get them...

Hi, I just got around to reading navy for moms. Nick & Mandy are stationed in va beach now for 4 yrs. They are doing great. Nick is on a ship- destroyer the uss oscar austin starting in sept. after he finishes school. They both are E-4's now. They are both on facebook and myspace if you want to tell your son. Fantastic! I bet it was so fun...how proud you must be of him! Shea's should be coming in another 3 weeks. He said it is very interesting...lots of areas to think about. He is sure proud to be in the Navy...I still haven't adjusted to the thought he has crossed the threshold and is now a young man on his own. I sure miss him. Proud of these young people for what they stand for, what they are doing.

Thinking of you. Again...I so appreciate your poster idea....and help on that!
He really liked it....and saved it! So I know that meant alot to him. thanks to you! Shea is to start QM school here in a week I believe. Seems like pulling teeth to get information or anything from him. Hope all is well with your sons'....and you are doing super! xo Take care...keep in contact.

Shea has been moved so much, lost touch of friends. He has had infection went to the hospital yesterday. Pretty sick with a chest cold it sounds. He sounds pretty down. Hope some of his friends call him. It is hard being sick, but not knowing anyone is more hard on him at this point now.
How are you and your sons?

It has been pretty cold here and lots of flood/slides, etc.

I am a 46 year old mom with four children. My 21 year old son, Steven, decided to join the Navy about six months ago. I was so proud of him. Justin, my 19 year old has just made the decision as well. He will be leaving for bootcamp late September.
