Yes, I did stay on to spend the holiday with Tim and 2 of his shipmates. We had a nice day doing not much of anything, but eat and loaf around the hotel. They loved it! Then Tim decides to get me up at 4:30am on Black Friday to stand in line at the NEX for a playstation thingy! I told him that the Wii was the big to do and we could have gone at any time to get what he needed!! At least we were done early and had the rest of the day to do whatever!!! My older son was home here and spent Thanksgiving with his dad. I came home Saturday and Sunday was my birthday so I got to have birthday dinner with the Jake. It was great holidays this year. I feel very fortunate.

No, Marilyn I did not go on the Tiger cruise in November, but plan to do the next one. There was too much going on at home and work to take the time off then. Not so much planned so far this year! I was at homecoming of course and loved every minute of that. Nice to meet some of the moms there too. I guess the Wasp is 32nd street??? and is your RR son still there? I also see that your one sailor is an AS. My oldest is AS and is currently in C school. I have been on this site almost since it started and just within the last few days I have met 2 of you with sailors with that rate. I started a group because I was tired of searching! It's a little known rate and I am learning as I go along with what my son tells me about his job, but it seems as though it entails alot and I get confused. I guess that happens with you with 3 of them!!!! God bless you and your 3 sailors! I have sooo much respect for their dedication and service! How long has your third sailor been in Tokyo and did your RR son get to see him?

Marilyn--
The event will be at Chris Nielson's house. If you send a message to Chris Nielson you can give her your phone # and she can call you with her address or she can send a message back to you. That is the safest we have found to relay personal info!! I really hope that we see you there!!!

You can also click on the Events tab on this site and find the Colorado gathering for more general information.

Have a Great Day!!

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings
