Hey girl he is good. He thinks the Homecoming is in Jaxs. Will there be to different ones? He is to fly back there. All his stuff is at home with me cause of him meeting up with the squadron and leaving the next day. We were under the impression that a lot of the sailors families had already moved to Jaxs. Now I'll be worried.

Hi Marina, hope this finds you well. How is your sailor doing? I'm so counting down the days until they return. I love reading the Family Grams. I love seeing my sailor on Skype. I can't wait for the day of his return and the homecoming. I plan to be there with all the bells and whistles. Will I see you? Have a great weekend!

Marina, I am so sorry it took this long for me to notice your post...Yes, our sons are so much alike...I am so excited to hear that your son is doing great and in it for the long haul... I don't know yet if mine will do the same but he is hanging in there for now. He seems to like it and is now looking for housing for him and his wife...I pray to God that he can do as well as Jim... OORAAH and Bravo Zulu Jim... That is a great inspirational testimony...Thanks for sharing...I don't look in the forums much anymore..Please feel free to post on my page and keep me updated... God Bless

Hi again! sorry it's took me so long to write, but during the week is'nt usually good for me. me & my husband both work 9 hr's or so a day, then we come home and by the time we get dinner ate and shower's it's usually time for bed to get ready to do it all over again the next day! I am so glad I dont have little one's anymore to try to take care of with our schedule and at our age. Well, me & Keith (my husband) justin's dad are'nt that old~I'm 40 and he's 41. We had our 2 at a young age. Justin is 22 and Brittany is 18 will be 19 in Oct. How old is Jim? Hope all is well with him.

Yes, it's GREAT about Justin coming home for a visit, so excited about seeing him. he does'nt have that Skype thing so all weve gotton to see him in are the recent pic's he has sent us through email's. He is a SKSN (StoreKeeper) when he is back here in the state's. which is a person who does all the ordering of the part's for the aviation dept. and keep's up with inventory's for them. He is doing a different job though, as I mentioned before while he's over in the "sandbox" but I cant really say what that is. We send Justin a package about once a month. some stuff he can buy there on base. but, some of the thing's he really like's they dont have so, we keep him stocked with those item's. Yes, he is wrapped tightly around our heart's as I'm sure Jim is in your's.

Well, I will let you go for now....Hope your week is a good one! God Bless!

Hi Marina, was thinking about our sailors tonight. So I wanted to check in with you. My sailor seems to be settling in. He has been getting time off now and sounds more rested and relaxed. He finally got over being sick from his shots. I'm thankful about that. Two more days and it will have been 7 weeks. He hasn't heard any more about the move right now. Sending blessings to you and your sailor.

Hi there. was reading some of your post's on the Kentucky Group (got an invite to join but for some reason my crazy computer wont let me~everytime I click on the Join the KY group icon it does'nt do anything~but will get it figured out and become an offical member).

I see your son is the "Sandbox"~mine is also~has been now for about 11 month's. Justins deployment is for 12-15 months. cant really say what it is that he does over there but, I know what you mean about the long HOT day's. it's like 120 degree's over there now. He "might" be getting to come home next month for a 2 week visit, then will have to return to finish some thing's out. then home for good! until the next deploy. But, our son love's what he does. He is 22 yrs. old. You can check out my profile page if you want to to see some recent picture's. It's just nice to be able to actually talk to another mother who's son is in the "Sandbox to~and from KY~oh yeah I live in Western KY.

Hope your Son is doing Well and he wil be kept in my Prayer's! hope to talk to you again soon.

Hi Marina....since you were the first person to call me a "friend" on here, I can't help but want to stay connected with you, and wish you well as you wait for your sailor to return. I know this is a tough time of the year to be deployed to the desert. (especially since I spent 23yrs in Arizona -- it is a similar condition there).
Anyway, I'm glad you're hearing from him, and time is moving along for you. Keep your faith alive, and if I can help in any way, I'm here.

Marina (Jim's Mom)

4th of July

JIm has been gone 4 weeks, 5 by the time the 4th rolls around. He's thinking positively and told me that he was one-fifth of the way through deployment. He received the first care package I sent. Many young men and women will not receive any. He's tired, but they are all tired. He's working 12 hour days, but so many are working that and more. I get to talk to him once or twice a week. Others cannot call home. He drops me an e-mail. Some sailors won't see a computer or a phone for months. I am for… Continue

He's over there

Well, Jim has been gone a week and a day now. He is adjusting to the hot climate and the sand. Working long days. Got to talk to him this morning, that was wonderful!!! I sent him a package, but apparently had the wrong address, so it will either get lost in the mail or be returned to me. That's a disappointment, but I'll just redo another care pack and send it out. It's just stuff, so I'm not going to sweat it. I signed onto skype so I will be able to see his sweet face, perhaps today he'll be… Continue

Marina (Jim's Mom)

Well, the time is upon us...

Talked to Jim tonight. He sounded so tired. He had a couple of loose ends to tie up before tomorrow. Wish I could be there to hug him, make him a cup of hot cocoa and just sit with him and hold his hand. Just let him talk and just listen to his voice and watch his face as he smiles. Oh, that smile. Lights up a room. I hear the nervousness in his voice, but cannot do anything to help. Reassure him that dad and mom are here for him. I imagine we'll talk to him frequently tomorrow, before he leaves… Continue

For Jim and all other sailors getting ready...

A sailor, proud and tall,
A man, on his own,
Ready to face a world
So different from his own.
Keep my sailor safe,
Away from any harm,
Watch over my son,
Til he's safely home.
I love you, Jim.

Not much time left

Well, Jim is getting closer to the day he departs. Will be gone for 6 months, hopefully he will be home in the USA for Christmas, and more important, here in KY for Christmas. I'm going to use all the great ideas for goodies and get a package ready to go tomorrow, will shop for them tonight after work. Since he is not on a carrier, he will be able to purchase items on base (at least he and I think so). Jim knows that anything he needs, we will send, so that is great for him, but the amount of ti… Continue
