I don't even have my own picture on my facebook page. The Internet is just so public! :)

So, I changed the pic to a proud Navy mom logo. Just thought I'd explain that for whoever is interested. I link the names of moms on here with their pics. I don't want any of you to think I've le… Continue

Love the pictures, Martha. It seems like just yesterday we were awaiting the 'I am a sailor call'. Now it has been two weeks since they graduated, and they are almost to 'phase 3'...hope you get another chance to talk to Sam in peace!

Don't feel bad Martha. My son went in on Feb. 11 and I haven't received any letters (or phone calls) yet. I am going with no news is good news. They would have called if they had big problems.

I taught in Coffeyville Ks my first two years---actually it was a school in Dearing but still part of the Coffeyville school district (I was an elementary school teacher for 10 years). I'm headed home this weekend to visit my Dad for his birthday. He was in the Navy and boy to hear him talk --- he remembers it like it was yesterday. It has been fun to hear his Navy stories. Having Matt enlist kind of brought the memories to the surface. It was amazing the advice my Dad gave Matt about boot camp that still rings true today and that was from over 50 years ago. Have a good one!

Thanks so much Martha . . . I feel better already! Wow, Fredonia . . I'm from Independence, Ks about an hour away. Yes, I love being a librarian . . . My husband is a salesman for Recorded Books so he loooves public librarians. Thanks for the encouraging words -- Natalie
