- We're hoping he gets to come home 1st before he has to report to Gulfport. But he hasn't found out for sure. He just graduated from gunners mate last Fri. He also has been on hold a lot this past yr.. He PIR'ed Oct 08. Started out in Pre-buds, missed a pull up on one of the tests so he had to choose a different job, chose gunners mate and was able to get Riverines as his 1st choice. So now we're waiting to see if he can come home before he has to report.

- tMy son is heading to Gulfport for the beginning of his Riverine training as well. You should join the Riverine Mom group. It is small but good information. My son will be in Rivron 2 which one is your son in? They are in Gulfport for a few weeks. Then my son goes to Little Creek and on to Camp Lejune for like three months. There is information on the Riverine group that will help you figure out deployment dates as well. I would love to chat.

Beverly Staton said… - Hi Mary Beth, Just wanted to drop you a short note to let you know about the Christine Feehan series of "Dark" novels. There are approx 19 or 20 in the series. OMgosh!!! I promise, you will not be able to put them down. And, for me, the real plus here is that I hate it when a good (or great, in this case) book ends, and with the 'Dark' series, they just go on, telling of another "Carpathian" man or woman and their connection to the 'prince.' In addition, each book tells a little more about the Carpathian people and what happened to each of their ancestors. This series of books are in the vein of vampire, romance, old world chivalry, etc. However, these "people" (characters) are not the evil vampires, not 'yet', any way. You can find Feehan online and she is one of the most popular authors of our time. Hope you'll check it out. From the tone of your writing in the 'Book Club', I really & truelly believe you would just love the entire series. Let me know what you think.

Kathy B. said… - Yes - Cory graduated 10/17. He was the Recruit Petty Office in Charge of his Division. He went to San Antonio for A School and graduated Top Gun. He is now in Greece. We are very fortunate as we hear from him just about every day......and he's loving every minute of it.

- Ya, he will be home the 19th through the 3rd. I don't know if he will try again for Seals, two years is so long and so far he doesn't have any jobs available that he would ever consider. I wish he would go for air traffic controller, but he would have to sign for 5 years and he doesn't want to do that. he could get out making 150,000 a year though. but he really doesn't want that. time will tell. He hates going from working out 8 hours a day to doing nothing. has sean left for A school yet? hope you enjoy your time with him!!
