At PIR, can the saylors take personal items with them that weekend to take to their next destination (mine is A School in Pensacola)? I would like to get him a graduation gift and thought it would it be very special to give to him that weekend.

I suggest going to the Gurnee Mall and just hanging out, or you could go to Lake Michigan- You will have to ask how to get there Im not the one who drove and that place confuses me, but it is well worth it. It has a great place to walk out onto the peir, and you could also swim. They have a pretty nice beach area. Also, there is six flags but we didnt want to spend our time waiting in long lines to ride the rides, so we avoided it all together. My son finally called last night- we were so happy to hear from him- he is in Conn and said that they are treating him very good. Thats what this mama needed. You can still call anytime with any questions, In fact I would suggest it before you leave- Have a great day Mary! Tena

Thanks for the reply- Wow, someone that actually knows where Hicksville is! Usually people laugh when I tell them the name! So is your son at boot camp right now? My son just graduated from boot camp and we are still waiting to hear from him. No word yet- He could be in Connecticut or still being held in Chicago, waiting for school to start. I sure wish someone would call and let us know where he is. Mary K. my husband just called me at work and we got another letter from Colin today. Have you received anything yet? he says the food sucks and that he is bored.Please bring my contacts to PIR and that he should be allowed to call in about 1 week. Yea.. my husband and i are laving Friday for two weeks so colin said he would call my cell.Just be my luck that we'll be somewhere where there is no phone service.Have a good day

Mary K. Wow!! a phone call. That must have made your day. Hope you get a letter soon. My husband and I are leaving Friday morning for 2 weeks. Hope to get another letter before we go. Looking forward to our trip but its going to kill me not to be here in case a letter comes. Mary K Good News. we received a real letter from Colin today. Hope you did also. I was very short but he says its not so bad but they bust our balls alot. also hes looking forward to the 28th and dont forget to bring my cell phone. I'm sure that he is dying without that. Married, mother of four, Registered Nurse working as a Diabetic Educator and Dialysis Nurse. My 23 year old son, fresh out of college, recently enlisted. My second son is 22, senior at the Univ. of Cincinnati, co-op at Toyota, and is planning on pursuing a law degree. Then there are my 17 year old twins who will be seniors in high school this year.
