My son is being deployed to the sub next week. Excited for him to see the world nervous because I love to be able to just call him and know he is only a phone call away!!

He says he can get out when they are done with class - maybe sooner. He said that if we can find a flight at night, then better. We have found a couple flights - we are waiting to talk to him again tonight to tell him which one to get. He was searching wrong and coming up with over $1000 for a flight!

I will cross my fingers that Nick gets some time off!

Mary - he said that his class, and 08-04 are on leave. He does not know about 08-02 which is in section right now. Spence is in 08-03 class, and he said that those two are off. Which class is your son in again?

Thanks for all the good sites. It seems I can't get enough information!! Zach is hoping for the fast attack subs as well. It sort of creeps me out, but he is very much looking forward to it. You've got great pictures on your page. I noticed the transition from red stripes to eagle and chevron on your son's sleeve. Congrratulations! Thanks for the advice about GC. I can't believe there's no air conditioning! My folks lived in Charleston for many years, so I know what it's like there. Zach wants to do his Prototype in NY, just for the chance to see other places. Well, I'm so excited that PIR is almost here for us. Those first weeks of bootcamp were pretty awful for me, and after speaking with my son, I think they were definitely harder on me than on him! I've heard so much about the ceremony...I am definitely packing plenty of Kleenex!! thanks again!

Mary - I don't think Spencer is on a lease on his place - I asked if they signed one, and he said it was open ended, so I think this lady has dealt with classes that get held up.

Is there any word on when your son will be graduating? I think I heard from one parent her son was supposed to graduate Jan. 20, and now is moved to Feb some time, but no word on when. So I am hoping once they know, I can figure how far out Spencer's will be from the original date.

We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
