About me:
Well, I'm not a Navy mom, but I am a wife of an amazing Sailor! I'm 21 years old and got married September 18, 2008. He is stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and will be there for most of this year. I live in Ohio with my parents for the time being and they are keeping me going on days that I miss my husband more than anything. They have really been great to Adam and I! I'm here to give mom's or dad's a different view point. I see things from my husband's eyes and know a lot about protocol and things like that just because as a spouse we are responsible for knowing the rules and how things work.
I am here to support or represent my:

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
that they now OWN my husband. It's hard knowing that even when he asks for time off for important things they will still say no. I've also learned that they move at their own slow pace. As a wife I deal with inconveniences like that often and a lot of parents don't see or deal with much.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

He's in A school!

Adam has made it to A school in San Antonio. I'm so proud of him! I'm glad that he wasn't on hold for too long because then his graduation date would have changed. But right now, he says he will graduate the 15th of August! He has seem really happy lately. I think he was just excited to get out of Great Lakes finally and move on. He was getting kind of moody waiting around there. But he got a new cell phone and was all excited about that. He called me maybe 15 times telling me to do this and tha… Continue

I goofed on my daughter-in-laws age. she is 20 and will be 21 in September. They look so young I still thought she was 19 Opppps :) It seems that the Navy has delayed people from being shipped out until October. So as of now my son and his family will be staying in Washington for a while longer.

Hey Melissa. My son is heading to Cuba in late June. He will be bring his wife and baby with Him. My son is 21 (this April) and his wife is 19 (will be 20 in Sept). You don't live there with your husband. Can you tell me anything about Cuba. My son is also a MA. What is it like there? Oh my daughter-in-law's best friend where they are now is named Melissa and her husband is Adam. He is a MA also. My son and his wife lived with them after they first got married until they were able to get housing.

Im up for Momday, although now my daughter isnt wanting to part with the jeep since her hours have been fluxuating. But im cool with that cause the taxis are really cheap and they have phones at most of the beaches or wherever we want to go. Did you get your visitors pass cause we keep getting conflicting stories whether I need one or not lol, If so where did you go to get it? Anyway, Im still working on the jeep thing lol. I think I will take a trip to the Nex, sarah doesnt like watching me shop, haha says I take too long and this way I can take my time for souveniers.
